Would like to try ClickBank. Not sure how to start?

Hello,
I would like to test clickbank. It has been in my todo list for a long time but for some reason I never tried it out.

I am not sure what would be the right approach? I currently don't own any site I could use with CB so if creating a site to promote a product is the way to go I guess first I will need to spend some time creating and promoting my own site.

Which approach would you suggest me to start testing CB?

Thanks in advance, any tip will be deeply appreciated!

Look into "launch jacking" or similar. For instance, SEO or else scraping UIDs from Facebook product mentions, etc. Just make sure you add a bonus that people can get by emailing you at YOU@awber.com (or whatever autoresponder you use) so you can build a list of buyers.

Otherwise, Clickbank products are extremely hard to sell profitably if you don't have a good relationship with your audience (ie. email list, social media following). Software is often easier to sell than ebooks.

Thanks! So... not even think about direct linking through Bing ads, 7 search, adwords, etc?

Don't direct link with Clickbank. Create a site with personality that the targeted people can relate to, build a list through Bing, Adwords, whatever by linking to your own site with prominent sign up form (NEVER 7search for things that require credit cards), and build a relationship with your list. Then start pushing Clickbank products related to your site/list.

Drive traffic to your squeeze page and build list, and offer your list something valuable for free, then send your offers when you got their trust. your conversion rates will be higher with list building.

    Good luck

I just use youtube. I like youtube because its passive, its cheap, and easy to get started. The hard part about youtube is you really need to know how to sell (it took me 6 months to perfect 1 script that I use as a template in ALL my niches). And you also need to know how to rank the videos. But I upload 2-3 videos a week, boost them, plug them into GSA, and walah...

    -RS

ps. I just redirect with tinyurl and don't build any lists. You get better conversions if you send traffic directly to the affiliate page and I don't have time to be emailing people xxx times a week (just my preference).

LOL. A lot of people ask to see my videos but I only show them to people I know and trust. And you don't honestly need to see my videos. You just need to see what 1 GOOD Clickbank video looks like. And you need to study it relentlessly and model it for your own niches.

This is a GREAT clickbank video -

You really need to learn how to spot the difference.

Good clickbank videos, put simply, are videos that sound genuine, real, and compelling. For many marketers, it is impossible for them to sound compelling, without sounding spammy.

Like the second video he starts talking about how he lost his wife and job, but the tone of his voice is not at all congruent with what he's saying. And he is way too focused on the product instead of the story.

My clickbank videos convert because I've learned how to be a professional liar. And you need to understand that your average person, even very dumb people, can spot a liar.

Another mistake I see marketers doing is they make their videos all about the product, instead of the STORY and the MESSAGE. I don't even use call to actions in my videos. I don't say "click this link" or "check this product out" or "go do this". I merely tell people there's a link in the description and thats ALL. Because I *know* inherently, and without a shadow of a doubt, that if people BELIEVE my story.... they will FIND my link >>> NO MATTER WHAT.

So you need to learn how to craft believable stories. In essence, I don't sell products, I sell stories. If I'm talking about something depressing, my voice SOUNDS DEPRESSED. If I'm talking about something good or happy, I just sound NORMAL. I don't try to sound happy. Because 93% of communication is done on a nonverbal level. That means, you will sell people MORE based on the tone of your voice, how congruent it is with your message, etc etc rather than the actual words in the story.

A lot of people don't realize it, but its the "nonverbals" that sell people. Its the passion behind the voice, the enthusiasm, the credibility, the charisma... NOT the words. At the same time, you can NOT overdo anything. Don't try to sound enthusiastic, BE enthusiastic, don't try to sound passionate, BE passionate. Convince YOURSELF that what you're saying is true, and other people will have no choice but to believe your story. Thats why when I'm talking about something happy I don't "try" to sound happy. Because in real life, people don't do that. Their voice might "lighten up" a tone or 2, but they don't try to sound ecstatic like "THIS IS SOOOO AMAZING OH MY GOSH". Its hard to put into words. But what I'm trying to say is that its better to undersell than oversell. You can use a depressed voice when hitting pain triggers, but don't use a super happy voice when talking about happy things (ie. "this product saved my life!").... cause that always sounds spammy on YT.

I literally shift my emotional state and BECOME my target market. I don't try to sound like I'm one of them, I BECOME one of them. Its all or nothing. People either believe your story or they don't. So there is very little room for bullshit. Even though your story will be 100% bullshit, you have to learn how to sell it as the pure, raw, absolutely unadulterated truth.

I can not emphasize how important it is to learn how to make converting videos. And I don't write a new script for every video. I use a template that I KNOW converts (a "template script"), and I just "rewrite" the part of the script that is specifically related to the niche I'm targeting. Which is only about 20% of the overall script. So it makes it easy for me to "write" new scripts, record new voiceovers and get new, high quality videos up FAST without wasting time thinking about how I'm going to pitch it. It doesn't matter what the niche is, I already know how I'm going to promote it. I will do it same as I did my last niche, and the one before that, and the one before that.

So there is no need to have a new, unique story for every niche. Once you have 1 basic script that converts, you just rewrite it and plug in all the specifics for the niche you're targeting.

Then I take the script, and use it in the description of the video. I always try to get a minimum of 1000 words, keyword rich, in the description (if the script lacks keywords I just stuff them into the script in the description). Google doesn't read videos, it reads text, so you need those descriptions. And the longer they are, the easier it is to rank your videos. Anyone who tells you otherwise isn't a video marketer.

Once the video is uploaded, I boost it with fiver retention views. Then I set up a campaign in GSA, which is GSA SER (search engine ranker). It costed me $200 in total. Its $80 for GSA and $120 for Captcha Breaker. And you absolutely need Captcha breaker. Thats a 1 time fee. Then I have GSA & Captcha Breaker on a VPS which you can get at https://bermanhosting.com/.

It costs me $28.99 / month for the VPS but I'm currently upgrading to a dedicated server (so I can scale faster).

I also have a membership for indexification and I send all my verified links there to get them indexed. You absolutely need a quality indexing platform and indexification is one of the best I know of. Otherwise your links won't get indexed, it will take too long, and videos don't rank fast enough or rank at all.

Then I use thebestspinner to spin my articles (which I use in GSA). The best spinner is $37 / year if you use the discount link on WF.

Keep in mind, I use this set up for my local marketing AND clickbank. And 70% of all my projects are local sites, not clickbank videos. So I needed these tools long before I ever started doing clickbank.

Last but not least is keyword research. I use to do my keyword research manually but eventually wound up paying a developer $150 to make me a custom made bot. The bot basically automated my entire manual strategy for finding keywords. So tasks that would take me months to do, that bot can do in a few minutes.

        What the bot does -

It scrapes hundreds of thousands of keywords, kinda like scrapebox does.

It plugs all these keywords into googles keyword planner, then it filters OUT all keywords under 3,000 searches (I don't target any keywords under 3,000 searches a month), and it filters IN all the keywords that have youtube videos ranking on page 1 of Google. So the bot basically searches EVERY keyword on Google then deletes all the keywords without videos on page 1. After this, is records basic data about my competitors. How many views they have, how many likes, and how many backlinks.

So this bot provides me with an endless list of low competition keywords, that I can rank for fast.

You do NOT need a custom made bot. I just did this because I had the money and was tired of doing my keyword research manually. And I only got this bot developed about a month ago. But in the last month I've already managed to double my hops. So the bot is more than worth the $150 I paid for it. Not to mention how much time it saves me.

Thats basically what I do. It may sound complicated to a newbie, but to an amateur it should make perfect sense. And in total, I probably spend about 10-15 hours a week on Clickbank. Some weeks I don't do shit. But now that I'm getting a dedicated server (it took me forever to find an affordable source), I plan on scaling up my videos BIG TIME. And once I get that dedi, my earnings WILL rocket. It will take another 2-3 months. But I'll be hitting some pretty big numbers soon.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

        -RS

ps. Keep in mind when I started Clickbank I was doing most my work manually. Even though I had software I only had 1 pc at the time that I was maxing out, and no VPS. Now I have 2 wikid fast xenon PCs, 2 screens, a fast VPS, and I'll be getting a dedicated server which will replace my current VPS. Which is also the reason I'm automating as much as I can (cause I have the resources / speed). But you CAN start slow like I did, and slowly reinvest and automate the more and more money you make. You don't need to a lot of capital to get started, contrary to popular belief. I have friends who started with no money at all and are now making more than I am.

Totally agree! I also have lots of videos on Youtube making passive income for me. It's possibly one of the easiest method to make affiliate commissions.

However, only a portion of my videos are converting well while the others are just getting views with very poor conversions. Definitely had learnt a lot from this post. Thanks a lot mate!

I really don't know how to say THANK YOU! I think I learn more from that post that in all the months before!

I do have just one more question if you can help and it is, do you hire actors for the videos or you do them yourself? If you hire actors, do you use some online hiring site like fiverr?

          again...THANKS A MILLION!

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I have friends who started with no money at all and are now making more than I am.

            again...THANKS A MILLION!
            No problem man.

And no, I don't use fiver actors. They are a major PITA to work with. You have to first find a great actor (90% of fiver actors can't "act" or sell if their lives depended on it) then you have to carefully craft your scripts with nonverbal cues like "turn your head down here", "act sad here", "do this", "do that" and even if you perfectly explain everything, many times they will still butcher the script. Like they overcompensate or oversell and they don't realize they're using "spammy" bodylanguage.

With that said, I have friends who use nothing but fiver actors, and one of them makes more than I do. But he gets like 4 times the amount of hops, and overall his conversions are a lot lower.

So you can definitely use fiver actors, I just personally don't like depending on other people. And since I've trained myself to do good voiceovers, I can take a lot more risks and do a lot more experimenting without going broke.

I know people who direct link to clickbank through their YouTube videos and do pretty well but I personally I would do as mentioned above and build a good list as you go to market to. A landing page with optin from a YouTube video is what I do.

You should check out this thread here, it has a lot of input on this topic...

    Here was my response....

You could try bing ads or PPV. Find a good niche that have a good amount of traffic, enough so you can hit $150 a day, and you don't build a successful campaign to make only $10-$20 a day. (You'll be able to tell once you test traffic starts coming in.)

Use a mini-site that forces all paths/links to join your newsletter. (Have it in the side bar, in the article/video [video is GREAT! you can hire people on fiverr for cheap], and at the bottom/end of the content.) You can try a direct squeeze which could do great, but builds less of a brand/trust before hand, and sometimes depending on the niche Bing will disapproved squeezes. (For PPV [TrafficVance or LeadImpact] you can go with a simple squeeze page, the traffic is cheaper, but traffic is harder to target and less mid sized niche. I would go with Bing Ads.) With you list setup an autoresponder that emails them every 2 times a week. After they are done with you 20 email autoresponder chain, move them a list that you blast weekly. I would pitch 1 or even 2 of the top ClickBank products for the niche.

Remember it all start with the right niche. You have a good budget and you should be able to hit $150 a day fairly easily, but it will take work. How long all depends on your skill level, and how hard you work. I would commit to figuring it out, NO MATTER what lol! Then you will succeed. It could take 2-3 months of test and tweaking!

Click bank is a good and huge network, you can pick products you like to promote,
drive targeted traffic to your squeeze pages, also learn how to keep your list active.
