Making a Advertising network - any tips?

Hello

I have recently joined this forum and I have a question. I am building an advertising network and was wondering if you have any tip's for me?

I am programming it in node.js because it has a non blocking I/O and that is useful for making an advertising network as you will be getting loads of connections to the system, thus making it superior to another system such as PHP.

I'm willing to work hard for this so if you have any tips on how to make it successful, it would be appreciated.

      Hello ChadTaljaardt,

      the starting point may be difficult for one simple reason - you will not have any advertisers nor publishers in the beginning. So it may be difficult to convince advertisers to pay when there are no websites for displaying their ads. Also, publishers may not want to sign up when there are no advertisers.

      For this reason, I would recommend to create some websites and make sure they have decent traffic. In the beginning, you can display advertisements on them. Also, try to ask your friends if they would place your ads on their websites for some time.

      This way, you have some chance to convince some advertisers to buy from you right at the moment when you launch your advertising network.
