    Hi Dabook,

Depends upon the niche. and just how targeted the traffic, and how well your web store landing pages, and checkout processes has been optimized. I have some that convert as high as 20% on the high side and others that are as low as 1.5%, all profitable of course.

I agree. Depends on the niche, how targeted the traffic is, and your current special deals.

Conversion rates are affected more by your landing page than anything else. Sure, you can ensure more targeted traffic with your keywords and that will help a lot. What your ads say can help as well but it's only the carrot, your page has to close. There can be other factors such as what the competition is doing (maybe better PPC, better offer). And the niche of course. As long as it is profitable, that's what you should worry about. A 2% rate can be profitable for one thing but not another.

I am selling katanas so the profit margin is big.

Doesn't matter how big the profit margin is. If you spend $100 to sell a $100 item, you've just spent your margin on advertising. You need to spend less than $100 and of course, the lower the better to make a higher profit.

As a katana is a japanese sword (I had to look it up), you may not be able to use most PPC networks out there. Pretty sure Google for one will consider this a weapon. On the other hand, I don't expect much competition for this sort of thing nor much search volumes. But with proper keywords with great ads and great landing page should have a high conversion rate, possibly 10% or more.
