Blogging is fun and easy. But, there are many mistakes and errors you can make as a blogger.
I have listed the 10 most common mistakes and how to avoid them.
1. Not being unique – Many bloggers are hesitant to be themselves online. However, your personality will attract attention and visitors. Do not be hesistant to be unique or different. By this I mean you can be your weird, funky, silly, serious, or controversial.
2. Not giving credit for information and ideas – If you borrow information or ideas from anyone give them the credit. It doesn’t weaken your content or your credibility, in fact, it enhances it. And not sourcing your material can get you in a lot of hot water legally.
3. Ignoring and not answering comments – If you don’t want comments you can set it so you people cannot leave them. But, if you want comments then be social and acknowledge them. Comments create a community on your blog. It motivates more comments and it’s just a friendly thing to do.
4. Quitng and giving up too early – Blogs aren’t going to achieve instant success overnight. They take time and effort. This is why it’s so important to enjoy what you’re blogging about. Eventually, with enough care and attention your visitors and traffic will grow. Keep a positive outlook and attitude.
5. Not publishing often – There’s a common rule that says you have to blog every day. However, if your readers don’t hear from you for a week or two, they will forget about you. Publish often and post quality, informative articles. This will keep them visiting your blog.
