Yes, this is another post-Panda article. While Google routinely goes through hundreds of small to medium changes every year, every once in a while they have a major change that really shakes things up.

From Florida to Caffeine to Panda, to survive SEO professionals (and hobbyists) need to stay up to date on what is working and what is not working. (Remember the Google Pagejacking 1969 problems of 2005?)

Post-Panda SEO Toolset

The first thing you should note is that tools are just that - tools. That is, they have no magic power to instantly make you money. Everyone wishes there was a money making magic button, but there isn't ... yet. Still, there are systems that can and should be automated if you are serious about running a successful website online - even if success to you means something other than money.

Once you have built up some knowledge there are tools you can invest in that will help save you time. Here is a look at some of the more popular ones and what they can do for you.

  • SENukeX - Be careful here as this tool is a machine gun. If you know how to use it you can do some damage, but if you're not careful you could also damage yourself! Basically, this is account auto-creation as well as auto-posting. The new X version comes with a nifty drag and drop scheduler so you can visualize your campaigns. They have a free 7 day trial. At around $130/month this is not a tool for newbies, but intermediate and advanced users may find some uses for it.
  • Scrapebox - This can be used for White Hat, Grey Hat, Blue Hat, Green Hat or even Black Hat methods. It is a very powerful tool that shouldn't be mishandled. A common White Hat use is to use it to find high PR blogs to manually post comments to or to check PR of a list of URLs. Lots of other stuff this software can do as well. If you didn't understand anything I just said, you don't need this tool.
  • Market Samurai - This is a somewhat sluggish but nevertheless useful Keyword Research tool with a few other bells and whistles attached. If you want to track your rankings in the SERPs on the three big search engines, analyze your competition or dig for good, profitable keywords, this can save you some time. Note that there are many free tools that can do similar SEO tasks, but sometimes having all the software tools in one box - so to speak - makes it easier and more efficient time-wise.
  • Keyword Country - Speaking of all-in-one SEO tools, if you haven't heard about Keyword Country yet, you should check it out. Not only does it do keyword research (and then some) it also allows you to analyze your competition (including backlinks and ads) as well as many other tasks (article submission, etc.) A quarterly payment is $99 for 3 months, which works out to a little over a dollar a day. If you're using it every day for keyword research, you can save a lot of time having all your tools in one program.
There are other tools that you should have in your SEO toolbox, but these are some of the big ones. Stay tuned for further SEO tool reviews in future articles here at Warrior Forum.
