One of the highest converting methods of promoting affiliate products is to use the "funnel interruption" method. The funnel interruption method allows you to specifically target people who are ready to buy the product and give them just one last push to buy the product.

This often results in a much higher ROI than other techniques. Granted, this technique won't make you thousands and thousands of dollars because of its limited volume, but if you want to add a few hundred dollars to your monthly bottom line, this is a fairly easy technique.

==> An Overview of the Technique

The idea is to target people who are typing in "research keywords." These are keywords people who are considering buying a product will type in.
For example, "[product name] review" is a classic research keyword. Why would you look for reviews unless you were seriously considering buying the product.

Sometimes just searching the product name is enough. For example, someone who types in "HP InkJet 5331 Cartridge" is probably looking for an ink cartridge and is close to buying. On the other hand, someone who types in "Doritos" could be looking for anything.

For most Clickbank products, if someone types in the exact name of the product like "Fat Loss 4 Idiots" there's a very good chance they're looking for more information on the product.

==> How to Get the Traffic

There are two main ways to do funnel interruption marketing: PPC and SEO.

If you can get your site to rank in the top 5 for keywords like "[product name]" or "[product name] review" you'll pretty easily make several hundred a month.

On the other hand, SEO is quite hit or miss, especially when you're competing with other competent affiliates.

Instead, most people will probably want to try using PPC to bid on these keywords. This will guarantee you at least get clicks.

==> Converting the Traffic

Now that you have highly targeted people on your page from either SEO or PPC, what next?

A review page will sometimes work and sometimes won't. Basically provide a review for the product, listing some of the drawbacks but focusing on its strengths.

Another method is to use a video testimonial or video salesletter kind of landing page. This will often but not always convert better than a simple text review page.

Finally, you could try offering a bonus. The bonus might be a downloadable guide, a consultation call or even something worth cash like an Apple Store gift card. Basically you'll be sacrificing part of your commissions in exchange for "bribing" them to buy with your link rather than someone else's link.

All of these methods work. Some work better than others for specific products.

In summary, a technique that converts very well is to find people who are already towards the end of the buying funnel and pushing them over the edge to actually buy. Do this by targeting "buying" keywords with SEO or PPC, then funneling them to a high converting landing page.
