When you invest money in yourself, in the form of a business or website, you have a better chance of gaining the returned you really deserve. This is an old strategy that has worked for many years and you can apply to your online business very easily. By setting a starting budget, reinvesting your profits, building profits and outsourcing once you start making profits, you can build a business that will return much more than the stock market or any average mutual fund.

Creating a Starting Budget

The first thing you need to do is decide how much you can afford to invest in yourself from the beginning. It's not hard to start an online business with less than $30. All you really need is a hosting account and a domain name, which are very cheap. Other than that, it's just about how much work you want to put in or whether you prefer to pay somebody to do the work for you.

Reinvest profits

Many Internet marketers get stuck in a rut because they forget to reinvest their profits to build their business. This happens often, especially with new marketers and businesses end up stuck in one place making a certain amount of money every month and that's it. You don't have to reinvest all the profits.

However, it's best to reinvest at least a portion of the profits to build your business. As you do this, you can change the percentage as you start to make more money. From the beginning, you should invest almost all the profits you make into the business until you hit a certain goal.

Build to a Goal

Setting a goal and building towards it is a great way to make sure you reinvest the profits. For example, when I first started with my Internet Marketing career I started with a website and my goal was to build a $500 a month income.

Once I hit that goal, I planned to use 50% of the money to continue to reinvest in the business and the other 50% for my own personal needs. You can set your goal at any amount you would like, but until you reach that goal reinvest every dime you make to build your business.

Outsource and Profit

Once you reach the goal you are trying to achieve it may be time to start outsourcing some of the tasks. This is simply paying somebody else to do something for you, which frees up your time to do the things your best at.

For example, I am a writer and always have been a writer. So, once I reached my goal, I started to outsource things like building links, blog commenting and other tasks that I just don't enjoy doing. Many websites offer these tasks for very cheap. You can free up the time you need to build your business to the next level.

By investing in yourself this year instead of in the stock market, mutual funds or any of the other investments out there, you can build an income that will return profits to you more often at a higher percentage. In addition, once you build an income from a website or blog, you can sell it for a large profit.
