Internet Marketing - Testing And Tracking Made Easy
- ARTICLES |
In today’s lesson, I want to share with you some of my favorite things to test and track while I run my internet business. I know for a fact that these changes were good changes because when I implemented these 2 tracking mechanisms, my sales grew – and hopefully yours will too. Here’s the first thing that I test and track in my internet business.
1) Price
Alot of online business owners tend to under price their products. While this is natural, it isn’t necessarily the best thing to do. Sometimes decreasing price by a little has no effect on your conversion rates and the amount of sales that you get. But sometimes when you change price drastically, the impact can be felt immediately.
For example, if you go to any Walmart in the country, you will find Xbox 360 games priced around $40 to $60. Now if you analyze that price and go to a “Gamestop” (a video game store)… you will sometimes see these same games selling for $10 to $20. I call this a good deal – and Gamestop’s customers feel the same way.
Now both companies make money on the games, but I’m willing to bet that Gamestop gets more sales for the games than Walmart does. There are tons of Gamestops all around the country! So they must be doing something right! Here’s another element that I like to test and track in my internet business.
2) Headline
A good headline will keep a user glued to your webpage. For example, I sell a product about blogging online and how to use blogs to increase online business revenue. When I first put up the page with a previous headline… the headline was all about getting blog traffic – as opposed to how my “offer” was going to help them to get started blogging and possibly increasing their sales and profits.
So I changed it, and right now the headline is 5 times better than what I had before. This one simple change is doing wonders for me. And also sometimes, you don’t even have to change the entire headline… the change of 2 to 5 words can give you a sudden boost in sales and profits.
These 2 tracking mechanisms are things that you will want to take and use in your internet business today. They’re simple, easy, and can be changed whether you’re internet savvy or not. Keep testing and tracking until you have a winner, and once you have that winner, keep driving traffic to that sales page, and continue to get sales day after day after day. Just be sure to add your customers to your backend marketing list.
Good luck with testing and tracking in your internet business.
