Changing to SSL on an HTML site

I have a site for which an SSL certificate was recently purchased. It is an older HTML site with a Wordpress Blog. I changed the links from http to https and and am still getting a "Your connection is not secure" message. I am also over my head on this one and have exhausted all searches and avenues of information. Any help would be unbelievably appreciated.

    Hi,

    Did you install the certificate or get your host to do the installation?

    Did your site ownership get verified by the certificate issuer?

    Have you tried running your site through a CDN like Cloudflare?
