To me, doing SEO is good. But making sure I have something good for my visitors at the same goes hand in hand with doing SEO.

It sounds like you already have some kind of plan to get there, I saw you mentioned Google +

How are you currently getting traffic to your website? The easiest way might just be to try to scale on what's already working.

    Trong,

Social media is good to increase traffic yes, but have you got quite a bit of content on your site and what will your site be? a blog, a service? a tool? or ??? As for SEO, one of the most important things to remember that trips a lot of newcomers up is that these days, there are not really any tricks or secrets to SEO worth exploring. The best option is to genuinely provide quality content for the audience you are serving. This will get you the best SEO. Of course other aspects are also important such as (real) backlinks and mentions to your site. These things will come with time and mainly BECAUSE you have quality content, so again, quality content is king.

  • If you want to improve your SEO skills, the do some research, do a course on search engine optimization. Play around with it and see what is currently working best for you.

Test everything you do, because there are always new ways popping up to do things better.

Once you become highly skilled in doing SEO or PPC advertising, you can always create a product showing others how to do the same, and have a high priced service on the back end of your sales funnel.

Audit your website in order to check on what you should improve and what you should stop doing. After that, focus on the points that you should improve. Increase your traffic by doing social media marketing. Improve your site's content by posting high-quality content regularly. Search for strategies on forums and other websites. Best of luck!
