Send Message To New Likes?

Hey everyone!
I have a question about getting new likes on my facebook business page. When I get likes, should I send a customized thank you to the new subscriber? I'm just starting, so I only have 12 likes so far. Or just focus on creating content that they might read anyway?

Sending a thank you message wouldn't hurt, as long as you don't overdo it, to the point of appearing spammy. However, this is something that would be difficult for you to maintain, especially when your followers reach thousands and even millions. • You could always leave a welcome message and pin it to the top. It could be a thank you and a brief message about the page.

I personally think it's overkill but that's just me

I do that on Twitter and it helps me to connect with others and start conversations with the people.

Employing this strategy on Facebook sounds good, but I am almost sure it wouldn't work. Why?

Facebook has very strict (ok, I would rather use the word stupid) anti spam system. A few months ago I sent an invitation to a marbles tournament to about 10 - 15 local associations. As the messages were the same, some of them were marked as spam.

I can imagine that you are not going to write a different message to everyone, right? So it may work for some time but when you get a lot of new daily fans the Facebook spam filter may be a problem.
