Website creation options

Several years ago I used WordPress to create a few websites. I haven't fooled around with this stuff for several years. I'm wanting to create a site and was looking for some direction since I haven't done this for a long time. I have seen commercials for companies that allow you to easily set up your own site with them. I'm guessing it's membership-based and you pay a fee to keep your site with them. I'm looking for cheap and simple. Is WP still a good option and does it pretty much work the same way as it did 5 plus years ago?

Thanks

Pretty much, yes, on the Wordpress question. Most of your time will probably be in looking at themes trying to find 'the one'.

I'm also trying odoo. It's kinda neat though finding where some functions are has been a little bit of a challenge.

    Hi bigfriendly,

Wordpress still feels like the best option out there.

Branding potential, monetizing potential, and most of all the support available from the huge, global WP community makes it an attractive option for site builders.

Wordpress is still on top of my list. Been using that for almost 4 years now and it still works as how it should. Go for it.
