Newbie needs help

Not sure my other post made it. Simply put I'm a hardship case in need of help. Looking to do shopify. But I don't know who to trust. I need a mentor. don't have money to do this with. I'm hope there is someone out there that can help.

    We need more information before we can help.

    Why Shopify? What do you know about it? Have you done this before?
    You say you are a hardship case with no money. Do you have a job or other income?
    What have you done online? What do you know about online business? Do you have a website or domain name already?
    What are your talents and interests?

    You are going to be disappointed if you are looking for someone to mentor you 1-1 for free. It just doesn't happen in 99.9% of the cases. And besides, what if you find a mentor who is willing to help but he/she winds up being untrustworthy?

    If you really want help, you'll answer these questions, do research on your own (almost every answer needed to succeed online is already here), be active in this thread, etc. Most people post their hardship story and disappear.

    I hope you can get things figured out.

      As I Sayed newbie. I know it's going to take time and work. No I have never made money on line. I'm fresh as you can get on this. Looking to find someone I can trust and not waste my time and money.

        Check out the WSO section in this forum to see who has created a course on shopify.

        Only invest in the WSO with the best product testimonials.

        Other than that, as Jason and I mentioned in the above posts to you, that you can also do your own research for free, by watching YouTube videos on the topic, as well as using the search function on the WF.

        Do your homework first.
        There are lots of beginner tips out there.
        You can't expect someone suddenly with open arm begin to tutor you. What did they get with tutoring you? Why they want to waste their time for newbie?
        Learning by doing is the best first step for beginner.

    There are free methods that you can use to make money online fast, but those methods may take a while before you may see any results.

    Use the search function on this Warrior Forum (WF), and search for threads on this forum relating to shopify. You may find all the answers you are looking for in previous threads, that has a similar question to your question.

    Alex Becker's YT channel is a good place to start.

    Having a Shopify store is just a Conversion tool. You need two things to make money: Traffic and Conversion.

    Where's your traffic going to come from? You need to get those visitors from somewhere. That needs to be your focus.

    Now as to the store...is it focused? Or are there a bunch of gadgets and things from all over the place? A link wouldn't hurt.

    There is a ton of free information on how to get started on Shopify online. But I will say this, do not get yourself overwhelmed with all of the information. Start out by learning the basics then move on to the more advanced stuff. I do agree with Jason Kanigan. Alex Becker has a lot of videos on his YouTube channel for Shopify beginners. He is very successful and creditable. I would start there first.

    Click on the "search" function in white toolbar above - click on 'advanced search' - then enter the word

    shopify

    on the left as a 'keyword' and below that click on 'threads' (not posts)....

    To begin with skip the sales threads - and start reading all the Shopify threads in the ecommerce section of this forum. Do that before you buy anything - hire anyone, etc...

      A practical but very WISE suggestion I might add!
      I remember as a newbie asking questions and being inundated with a bunch of very smart, knowledgeable, thoughtful answers that I really appreciated very much... and most were with good intentions. MOST
      But what really helped me get off and going is when I just took a deep breath and took a simple, practical approach just to get use to my new wings, gain a bit on confidence and then off the Branch I went. WIN, LOSE or DRAW was of no consequence at that point, I just wanted to feel the air under my wings. You'll be ok my friend just calm yourself and test your wings a bit. Don't wanna hop straight into a coast to coast flight without having the wing power to do so. Just strengthen your wings brother... The rest will come!

    You need to have minimum investments for facebook advert and few apps. Approx $600 is a must for this business to start. I recommend not to start if you do not have $1000 to spend. Lot of money goes just to test products. Once you find your winners then you can scale.

      Yes, be ready to test out different trafic sources with products, unless untill u have right match its lot of hardwork. So better get ready for that if u planning to go with shoppify
      I suggest start freelancing, start selling ur skills there must be something u r good at. Find your passion and interest and build a business around that.

    Hi Karl333,

    I feel a lotta desperation in you buddy.

    I feel for you but would say: take a deep breath, relax a little bit and when you see more clearly (with less fear in your eyes) getting an offline job to make money is the way to go. The online world - Shopify, blogging, any niche really - ruthlessly weeds out the desperate, the greedy, the delusional and outright scared folks of the world.

    You are not a charity case or hardship case. But you do need to make some money, to begin your online business from the right energy. Only because you are 100% guaranteed to fail if you start your Shopify business with this fearful, destructive energy.

    Why do you need a mentor you can trust?

    There is no such thing as "Easy Quick Money"

    there is no one that can guarantee your success...

    and you can't treat this as a hobby or something to jump in quickly to generate income. If you want to succeed you must treat it like a business when you have a business.

    Even online you are going to have to invest money.

    You can do it with a little amount but you will have to invest something.

    Don't get into business thinking you don't have to spend anything.

    My formula to you would be:

    1. Find something you have a passion for (Niche)
    2. Create a blog or create videos on YouTube and provide people value in that niche
    3. Build a following of people who like you and your content
    4. Market affiliate products to those people and leave links below your videos

    Once you make some money to invest in yourself

    Then build stores and such with your money that you make.

    Either way this is something your building and it takes time wont be instant.

    Karl, I feel your pain. I have been trying to make money on Shopify for years with zero results. Just like you what I needed the most was a mentor or even better a play by play handbook. What I found was even better. I actually found a system that did 90% of the heavy lifting for me. I would be happy to to share with you the free system I found.
    I read all the other replies and remeber getting all the same advice. Niche, build a list, make videos with links. All true and all works but what if you don't have a list? what if nobody see's your video? What you really need is a few sales just to put some wind in your sails. Reach out, youll be glad you did.     If you are sure that you want to do shopify then you need a plan and some money for the beginning:

    - First step: Educate yourself - read on this forum, find well-known blogs/sites and learn, find the people that do shopify for many years and subscribe on their lists, join fb groups in the e-com industry
    - 2nd step: Ask questions (here) ab what you don't understand (if you have any)
    - 3rd step: Make a plan with what you need to do, what tools and budget is needed and write on your everyday to-do list your profit goal at the end of the first year (make it realistic though)
    - 4th step: If you are at break-even or loose money in the first month don't panic..it's part of the process..learn from it and move forward
    - 5th step: once you start to make money invest the profits back in your biz to automate and grow it and in your education as well (very imp)

    Be aware that any business is built in a couple of years at a decent level..any claim saying "you'll make 10k in 3 weeks" or smth similar is not worth considering..it's just a sales tactic..

    the internet has a huge resource if you're interested in learning Shopify. You can learn better if you apply it (build a test site first and you'll eventually learn stuff along the way). Watch youtube videos, blogs, or ask questions (specific question) on this forum and people can help you out. Reddit is also a good resource too.
