  • I have heard that using IG influencers can bring you good results.

Here is what you do :
    1. You are trying to find a residual affiliate offer ( some membership or sth like that so people pay for it every month)

    2. You search for influencers which can help you promote your link ( Do it on Socialblade.com or hire them on sites like Fiver.com)

    3. When you find a good influencer you are checking out his/her engagement ( use free engagement calculators in google)

    4. Then you contact those influencers via DM or E-mail

    5. And you are paying them for publishing your affiliate link on their feed. (usually from 5$ - 100$ per post, depends on how big the influencer is)

You may not make a sell at the first time, but if you make it, then you will be getting paid as long as they pay for the service or membership .

    I hope it was helpful

Great post! What if, however, you are an advertiser and own a product...lets say an eguide.

Would you recommend sending the potential affiliate/IG influencer the link to the lp of that eguide? Or send them a salesfunnel link which would upsell your line of e-products/services?

When mailing, you want to skim off the top any fast-track conversions and then for long-term success, you want to always be collecting your opens / clickers, segmenting and removing unresponsive users...converting the leads from quantity to quality and into responsive lists. Which you can then also cross-promote other offers on the back-end.
Noob question, but how do I go about this? Does the email provider, such as Aweber, provide this data? If so, how can one segment without headache? Sounds like some unraveling and rewiring to compartmentalize a responsive list.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11347506].message }}
      • If there is a possibility, then always send a funnel. It is more profitable on the long run, because you can collect peoples emails and therefore build a list of your potential clients, so soon you won't have to pay influencers to promote your link, and you will have a very targetted audience interested in what you have to offer. I would recommend to give them something very cheap at the beginning ( like 5$ product) and then, after a week or so, send them some freebies ( advice, free e-book, free trial, or just entertaining message). It will surprise them and therefore make them more likely to buy stuff from you in the future. Your product/service will always be pursued by only 3% to 10% of your audience, but you can try to sell your stuff twice, by sending a discount to those who didn't buy on the first try.

Great advice, even for a product launch. Free tee's are great from what I hear, especially you're working on branding.

          Funnels it is, then!

I would probably do that to start off too.

You'll pay PENNIES for high targeted traffic, and if you sell a membership product, you'll start earning income on the side afterwards. Later, it's just reinvest.

However, you will want to capture the traffic, so maybe have some sort of way to take that traffic for yourself, in the form of an email capture page of some sorts, so that you can retarget.

Regarding the influencers, you'll have to make sure that their audience is highly enganing and not bot or fake. If you're looking at a 100k follower account, where 30 people comment and like each post, it's probably not real people. Look at the audience to make sure.

  • Find a product that's already making sales online.

    * Sign up as an affiliate to get your affiliate link to promote that said affiliate product.

    * Create review videos about the benefits of using the affiliate product, and upload them on youtube.

    * Insert your affiliate link in the video description.

    * Near the end of the video, you ask your audience to click on the link in the video description.

That's one way to do affiliate marketing.

As I have mentioned to others before, sending traffic directly to your affiliate links will be a waste of your energy if you don't find away to capture the email addresses of the traffic that has viewed your affiliate links.

To find out more about affiliate marketing, use the search function on this forum. Type in "affiliate marketing" and read the threads regarding affiliate marketing.

I hope this gets you started

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offer for over 17 years.

Below is my boilerplate response to the basics of how I do it, but not a complete procedure.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

I drive traffic and build responsive email lists by acquiring different forms of email data.

Fresh / targeted 3rd party data, which is email leads of users that have shown an interest in a specific PPL niche or offer and have given permission to receive messages from third parties. You get the opt-in record of each user and it's 100% can-spam compliant.

Generate real-time Co-reg, which works by placing an ad for a specific PPL offer on a co-registration network and their publishers display it and can request more info about the offer. When a user requests more info, their contact info is automatically imported into your ESP account / campaign and they are sent a message regarding the offer. You pay on a per lead basis.

There is also rev-share data, which is basically 3rd party data (typically fresh / targeted) that you get for $0 upfront costs and you split the revenue generated from sending it with the data provider. Those that provide rev-share are typically just aggregating the data and aren't marketers and provide it to those that know how to monetize.

So with the above, I am getting fresh / targeted leads specifically for the PPL offers I'm promoting. However, they are not typically as responsive as a high-quality opt-in list that you build yourself. So to compensate for this you need to work with higher volume. This is not a big deal since the cost is much cheaper and highly scalable compared to traditional list building methods.

When mailing, you want to skim off the top any fast-track conversions and then for long-term success, you want to always be collecting your opens / clickers, segmenting and removing unresponsive users...converting the leads from quantity to quality and into responsive lists. Which you can then also cross-promote other offers on the back-end.

So basically the real reason I promote PPL offers because they provide the path of least resistance to generating conversions / $$$ and converting the data into cash producing assets.

There's actually more to it than it sounds, but done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

Couple things I didn't mention because it is beyond anyone doing when they first start out.

You can also get aged 3rd party data but it is more involved and requires special tools to do successfully.

Once you have experience, you can find companies that have opt-in / buyer lists that do little with them or nothing at all via email marketing...mainly they call all the users and/or don't know anything about promoting affiliate / CPA offers to fully monetize their data. This requires more work because you have to find the companies, where the other options above are easy to get access to. This is what would be considered 2nd party data, as you manage the companies data and monetize it for a percentage of the net profits generated.

If acquiring email data isn't for you, there are many marketers promoting PPL offers using mainstream methods like AdWords, Bing, etc... and doing good.

    Something to think about.

  • Hey
I'm not much into affiliate marketing, but I know, that there is a good deal in so-called residual offers. It's because people, who purchase through your link have to pay a monthly subscription and If you promote service, then you can easily create some Passive income out of it

I would recommend to use YT or Instagram, build an audience or buy an account and then you can promote links in your posts

I would definitely start by looking for a good converting offer. This will make it much easier on you. Specially if you are new at Affiliate marketing. After you identify a good converting offer then find a good traffic source for potential customers. You should be able to write good ad copy and then send out the ads. If the traffic source is good, the ad copy is good and the product or offer you are making is good then should have conversions as long as you are consistent.

    Hi vikku01,
Indeed there are step by step guides out there, but to me its more like building components and combining them.(like LEGO we played).
And you are going to build those components by learning and spending money.

Some important components are as follows:
    • Collect valuable products to promote.(in ClickBank)
    • Find people who are interested in these products.(in social platform or your own website)
    • Build relationship with them and let them embrace your promotion.

    Note:
Relationship can be build by giving people what they need deep in their heart.(like an understanding of a difficulty, or relax & happiness feeling)

Just go for it, wish you reach your goal!

To get started in Affiliate Marketing, you are going to first need to join an Affiliate network. Clickbank is a popular network that sells digital products that you can promote online.

Pick a niche of the types of products you would like to promote and write about. What niches interest you?

Set up a blog online and write about your niche that you have chosen. Offer valuable content.

From here, you are going to need to start driving traffic to your new blog. You can do this with either SEO or paid advertising.

The more traffic you drive, the more sales you will see.

    Continue to repeat this process.

Don't focus on money, focus on progress.

Something I've learned with time, frustration and the challenges I've faced with building a business is that money doesn't buy happiness.

For some people they say it does, but for me it absolutely doesn't.

I soon hit burnout, my motivation dropped and my big vision started to fade away.

I often see new people coming into this business and they make the same mistake I once made.

They look at their favorite marketers who are making thousands of dollars every single day.

They expect to come into the business and duplicate their results overnight without the skills, money and knowledge.

This is very unrealistic for a newbie starting their own business.

If you want to be in business for the long term you need to start learning to enjoy the process and stop trying to skip the line.

Focus on small wins and getting better with time. You can't build a million dollar business overnight.

What I would suggest is the following:

1.) First sit down and map out your long term goal of what you want your life to be and if there was no limit what would you do and have in life.

Don't write small goals because you think it's to big. Be honest with yourself and write down the life you would love and what you want to achieve.

2.) The next step is to figure out what you need to live comfortably now. Notice I said comfortable and not bmw's, big houses and lavish things.

How much money do you need to replace your day job?

How much money do you need to have a little left over at the end of the month for entertainment and basic living?

How much money do you need to invest into your business to keep it growing?

Once you have this figured out this is your first goal. Just make enough money to buy back your time and make your life easier so you can focus on going full time with your business.

3.) The third step is to now map out the process by the day, month, 6 months and year.

What are the things you need to do daily?

What are the things you need to do weekly?

What skills do you need to learn and when will you set time aside to learn them?

Based on your budget for investing into your business what marketing method will best help you achieve your goal?

Obviously if you don't have money for paid traffic to start(I didn't) then what methods can you do daily that will build up momentum over time to get you to a paid traffic budget?

The key here is to really map out a plan you can work everyday to reach your goals. Business isn't something you do overnight, it's something you do consistently day in and day out to build something big.

    4.) Now get to work

Don't follow every marketer who makes money. This will only confuse you on what is the right way to do things.

Every marketer has their own idea how things can be done and usually they think other methods are inferior.

This confused the hell out of me when I started and I wasn't sure what was right or wrong. So I constantly wondered am I doing the right thing.

Make a plan and stick to it until you see success. If you bounce around to different business models, different ways of marketing and constantly look for a new mentor you will end up so confused you don't know how to get started.

Make sure every single day you're doing at least one thing to move yourself closer.

    5.) Don't beat yourself up.

Building a business, focusing on becoming a better version of yourself and reaching true happiness for you takes time.

Theres a reason I preach mindset so much. It's not something you do when you want to or only when you're feeling good. You need to do it daily just like brushing your teeth.

Don't get dejected if you're working hard and don't see results right away.

Don't tell yourself I'm stupid, not cut out for this, I'm never going to get results...

Realize that everyone including myself went through the same phases you're currently going through right here and right now.

To become an entrepreneur it requires risk, a strong mindset and you have to think and hold yourself to a higher standard than most people who settle in life.

You will face criticism from jealous people who are not living up to their own expectations, you will face frustration of learning new skills that are uncomfortable and your doubts will make you feel very inadequate at times.

Learn to not give a crap what other people think. If they don't support you or want better for you then they don't deserve to be by your side when you achieve your goals.

Learn to embrace your fears and get used to being uncomfortable often.

Learn to doubt your doubts and make them your bitch.

Learn to develop such a strong mindset that nothing or no one can break your vision no matter how much they try.

Learn to accept failures, but don't look at them as failures and only as experience and feedback for what to do next time.

When you stop chasing money and instead focus on becoming a better version of yourself and making constant improvement towards your goals you will get there much faster.

I no longer focus on money.

    I focus on self improvement.

I focus on being the best son, husband, friend, marketer I possibly can.

I focus on building a business I'm passionate about and that helps other people see they can have and do whatever they want just like I've done.

I focus on becoming better at everything I do.

This business can be amazing or it can be miserable.

Only you can decide how that will be for you.

I once was afraid to write and share my feeling,

This business has transform my life more ways than one and I don't equate money to any of the happiness it's brought me.

Sure money makes life easier, but money is simply a tool.

The person you become if you embrace the journey is where the magic happens.

    So you ready?

    1.) Pick/generate a hot converting offer

2.) Stick with that offer until you make it successful.

3.) Drive traffic (blog, videomarketing, paid traffic....) to a squeeze page and build your list.

4.) Build relationship with that list, market to it, share helpful tips and focus on 80% value 20% promotions.

5.) Take profits, reinvest, scale up

    Thats it!!

Make it simple and don't complicate too much...

You can master process or outsource anything (copywriting, webinars, technical stuff) you hate doing along the way.

The easiest way to get access to PPL offers is by signing up to CPA networks.

You can also try and find who the offer owner / advertiser is and try and get it direct. The advantage of doing this is you can possibly get a higher payout. Also if you can push volume you can try and get them to provide a unique landing page.

Last but not least, you can create your own offers and find buyers for the leads. When I first got started monetizing data, there were no CPA networks and every offer I ran was my own. You can get the highest payout possible this way, but it's more work and there's always the risk of not getting paid if you provide credit. Where you can really kill it going this route is by developing affiliates that can push volume.

Hi, I tried to publish my own thread but it failed for some reason. Can someone give me tips on this. I have a niche coupon/deal site. In my niche not every store has affiliate program. What would be the easiest way to track those stores's sales so that I get an affiliate commission.

In my opinion the easiest and cheapest option would be that the store installs some affiliate plugin like affiliate wp. Because I am not sure that particular store wants to start a big affiliate program just so that I can track the buys. What you people think?

Put this word on a sticky on your computer.....RECURRING.

Getting paid again for the same amount of effort you did once.

This one simple strategy I wish I had focused on more heavily from day one many years ago.

Recurring income keeps you in the game. It allows you to invest back into your business. You do not have to keep starting from scratch. You become immune to shiny objects unless they are helpful to increasing your recurring income.

    Hi,
In simple terms, affiliate marketing is when you earn commissions for recommending products/services to readers.
Step 1: first you need to create a website or blog.
Step 2 : choose an industry.
Step 3: Research the product and review.
Step 4: Sign up with the Affiliate marketing program.

Which is your favorite software for creating a simple funnel to capture emails and build your list? Which do you prefer and why?

I was leaning towards using ClickFunnels, any arguments for/against this choice?
I'm pretty new so I just wanted to use what was the simplest, most intuitive, drag/drop, etc.

    Sure.

Here are my 5 steps if you want to promote info products as in e-books, video courses and software tools.

    1. Identify Your Niche

As what you are good at, knows a lot and spends the most time in.

    2. Identify Your Niche Market

As in finding a group of people who shared your interest, wants to learn from you and whom you want to learn from

    3. Research And Identify Products Based On Their Needs And Wants

This is when you go to relevant affiliate networks like Amazon, Clickbank, JVZoo and Warrior Plus etc to research and identify products that best catered to their needs and wants.

    4. Build A Blog And Landing Page

Once you accomplished the first 3 steps, that is when you invested in domain (preferably yourname.com) and web hosting.

Then build 2 types of websites as in blog and landing page. While your blog can be yourname.com, your landing page can be yourname.com/whatever-free-gift-you-want-to-give-away as generic examples.

For me, I used Ink Themes by ex-Theme Forest developer for my blog and Optimize Press for my landing pages.

Although I also mastered the art of creating high quality html landing pages using royality free images and Aweber optin-form in recent 2 years.

    5. Invest In And Use Autoresponder

Once you have your blog and landing page set up, that is when you invested in and used your autoresponder to send followup, content-based and recommendation emails to those people who did not buy your offer but are on your list as subscribers.

This is how I now do affiliate marketing and how you can too.
