Needing help picking a "Woo" theme / look of my site

Hi
I started speechtherapyathome.ca on Wordpress. Thanks to your help I've moved to SiteGround and am thinking that a Woo theme - either on of theirs or something very Woo friendly would the way to go. I started with Storefront but I'm not sure if I can get it to look the way I want. Big part of that though is I'm not sure what it should ultimately feel like. My new site will be speech-therapyathome.com

I'm going to try to sell Speech Therapy Programs that parents can use at home. The site will also offer lots of free advice and ideas to help parents help their kids with speech and language. I likely won't have more than a dozen different speech programs to sell - unless I expand to other areas but I'm thinking staying focused on one area might be best - at least for now.

My customers will be of course be parents. Mostly 30 to 40 something old moms I would think. What would appeal to them - help them to trust me?

Would upfront in your face - here is my product in a very slick "store" look - be off-putting?

More of a home made - blog with a store look - products not on first page be better?

Thanks for your help

I don't think anyone is going to go shopping for a speech therapy program. Most I would think would find my site by looking for more general ways to know if their kid has a problem and/or how to help speech problems.

Any ideas on specific themes to try or on the overall look would be much appreciated.
    Thanks for your help

First off, you posted two threads with pretty much the same content -- that's not necessary. If you need to change a post, you can simply edit it. I merged the two threads, so no harm, no foul, just an FYI for the future.

    Now, on to your questions...

Whether you want a slick e-commerce feel or a more homespun feel depends on your positioning. If you want to be seen as a corporate entity, like a speech clinic or professional association, go more corporate. If you want to position yourself more as "hey, I'm one of you," then going more homespun, blog and store, would be the way to go.

From the way you write about, I'd guess you'd be more natural with the second option.

Your idea of staying focused on one area is smart. Too many people want to start as the next Amazon. When it started up, even Amazon wasn't Amazon.

One good way to know when it's time to expand is when your customers start asking if you have anything like what you offer, only in [area B]. For example, if most of your courses are for younger children, people may start asking if you have anything similar for the Young Adult age bracket. Make sense?

    Hi
Sorry about the duplication. I had some trouble posting.

Thanks for the help. I do think I'll go with the homespun look. I don't come off as slick and slick is going to be a lot harder for me to make when it comes to a website.

I'll only sell Speech products at least for now. I was more wondering about adding articles on language to help with SEO. I've about exhausted what I can talk about for speech but if I add in language I could easily triple my content. Would this help?

    Thanks again.

Not quite sure what you're asking here. Can you elaborate?

        Hi John
I'm wondering if additional articles would help with SEO, traffic, google rankings? Right now my site is focused on speech sounds - programs for sale and articles on this topic. If helpful I could add in information on language development. I could easily triple the number of articles. But is it better to keep focused on one topic? I don't want to make my site confusing.
