Okay, i have a product and I am currently designing the landing page.

Where can i advertise it?

    Where are the folks who dig the product?

    Create helpful content in these spots. Catch their attention aka earn their attention through your service. Grow business.

    I figure Google Plus Communities, Facebook Groups, Warrior, YouTube, Sound Cloud and your self hosted WP blog are a few spots where you can help people. Then link in to your posts pointing to your landing page.

    You've got it bass ackwards.

    Figure out where the traffic is, find/create a product/service for that traffic.

      I don't understand this concept.

      The person creates a product that they are well versed in. They are looking for ways to market the product.

      Instead, you tell them to forget the product they built from experience and proficiency, find traffic to products that they have no interest in, or experience with and couldn't build if their life depended on it, then build a product for that traffic.

      How would new things ever be developed if everyone adopted this plan of attack? It would just be an endless stream of products in an obviously saturated market. What am I missing? Please elucidate.

    First of all, you have to figure out where your potential customers hung out.

    Then you only focus on that platform and try to build connections

    For example, once you join a Fb group and you start to been know you may ask to the admin to pin your landing page at the top of the group in exchange for an affiliate commision on your product (this work only if your are marketing your product)

    Then remember that usually, you should have one channel to acquire lead and one channel to communicate

    So for example you may use youtube to communicate with your audience and then acquire lead with Fb Ads or Adsense

    What's the product?
    Are you looking for paid traffic (ppc, ppv, facebook ads, etc)
    or free traffic (eg. seo, facebook groups, etc)
