free wordpress hosting

hello,
I have two separate business (each has their own ecommerce website) but fall under an LLC. I want main LLC domain/website to just be informational & link to 2 separate companies. I was thinking of just using wordpress with free hosting (that don't show ads on my site).

Two questions: 1) is this the way you would handle LLC domain and 2) can you recommend free wordpress hosting without adds showing on site.

Thank you
C

So - let me get this, straight. You have two ecommerce websites, yet you need 'free' WordPress hosting for an ancillary project?

Can't afford the $2 or $3 a month you would need to pay to get hosting without ads?

    One last question. How's business???

To answer your question, no I would not recommend free wordpress hosting. It's your business and it could get shutdown overnight without warning.

Buy some hosting and have as many wordpress blogs on it as you like provided the host package supports multiple domains.

As others have said, free hosting is horrible and I would never consider it for a real business. If you can't afford a few dollars per month for hosting, I'm not sure why you are even in business.

In addition, I wouldn't even consider using WordPress for eCommerce. Far too many headaches, security issues and PCI compliance problems. Use a real shopping cart like Shopify, 3DCart or BigCommerce. They are definitely more expensive than WordPress but again, if you can;t afford $20/month to have a secure, stable website where people can order things, I'm not sure if you can afford to even be in business.

    Here is more clarity.

The two business/domains run on ecommerce platforms (Shopify & Big Commerce). They fall under an LLC (lets call it ABC LLC).

Just want to set-up a website for ABC LLC that will literally do nothing. It will just have a single picture, brief summary of two business with link to their website. No blogs, no products, no payment...nothing on this site. As matter of fact I don't even plan on visiting ABC LLC website for several years....ghost site in a way. The whole purpose of setting up ABC LLC is if customer (visiting Shopify store) reads footer and see its owned by ABC LLC. They might get curious and want to see if ABC LLC has legit site up. The other purpose of just having site up is if I pursue international trademark for ABC LLC name...having website up (even if its shell) will help if dispute happens in future.

This is why I was trying to find free way to set it up and just let it sit there indefinitely without incurring monthly web hosting fees. I know it might sound frivolous to worry about low monthly hosting fees but lets say I pay $5 month for that. After 3 years its $180 dollars. I would rather put that money toward VA. Thats why I was exploring free hosting.

That's 1.6¢ per day. Something is very wrong with this mindset.

What kind of work can you get a VA to do for $5/month? Sure you can add it all up after 3 years but really, I can't imagine a single earthshaking thing that $60/year is going to buy you.

That said, you can either remove the link or put it on a free WordPress blog if you think that money is going to make a real difference. I'd be inclined to pay the paltry amount. If nothing else, it will allow you to set up an email address in cPanel that the parent LLC can use.

Can you remove it from the footer?

I doubt it really matters that the LLC doesn't have a site.

I've seen clickfunnel pages that have LLC name in the footer / no site for it and I know a fact it's not hurting their sales.

If you are really concerned, I would just find the cheapest hosting which can't be more than like $5 per month.

thanks. That might be best way to go. Just keep domain name and not put anything up.

    That's a terrible idea.

Splurge on the $2.75 a month self hosting.
