Hey, everyone. I want to be a successful marketer but I haven't been exposed to the correct tools yet. So my question is what are the steps to becoming a successful affiliate? I know you have to find keywords in your niche. Then you have to write an article. That's where my knowledge stops. Why are you writing an article? Who is it for, prospects? I need to know the steps after I identify my keywords and my market. You have to have an audiene you have to have an offer and you have to have copy. After all that I don't know the next step to put it in motion. I am so close. No one ever talks about that part. Can someone fill in the blanks? Thanks in advance...

    I am so close.
Sorry, but no, you aren't 'close'. Knowing 'to do' something is not the same as knowing how to get it done effectively.

No 'tools' will help you until you take the time to grasp the concept of affiliate marketing - how one task relates/leads to another - why you are finding keywords or writing content...whether there are tools that will help or will only drain your bank acct.

Can someone fill in the blanks?
Not in one forum thread - use the forum search to find discussions about how to do keyword search - about the purpose of articles - about simple sales funnels. How to choose products to sell - how to set up your website/blog to get sales....etc etc.

Affiliate marketing is not rocket science - but you do need to understand what the process is or you will waste time spinning your wheels.

Ah, *sigh* you have confused tactics for strategy.

Those things you mentioned are just...things. Tactics. I can hand you a bunch of Lego blocks. Awesome. Now build me a spaceship. I'll be fair: a Lego spaceship. Well...you probably don't have the right blocks or enough of them to build that spaceship.

Even if someone was to dump a huge pile of Lego blocks in front of you (which is what this forum is like), you'd still lack the blueprint necessary to go through the pile in an orderly fashion and take out the parts you need (strategy vs tactics again.)

Strategy: bring people--Traffic--to a web page offering them relevant content in exchange for their email opt-in--Conversion.

You, TV, need to identify your target audience. Who are they? What problem do they admit to having that you can solve?

The first step Teresita is to be super passionate about your affiliate niche. Fuels you for your journey. Get that one down first because skipping it ensures all goes to custard.

  • You have learned a lot and you simply need to start applying that knowledge. Affiliate marketing takes time to learn, it take time to learn copy (that is specific to you) and it takes time to build an audience.

As mentioned above, it helps to enjoy the info in your niche because you wont get bored.

You simply have just started. Now you need to start putting out information that is helpful, and/or entertaining to the audience in your niche.

  • You need to have your own blog for long term success. Post good articles to your blog so that people will visit your site and this generate traffic to your site. You can then collect leads and promote offers through your blog.

You need to get website visitors then warm them up so they will buy.

For example I started a site this year and one of my regular visitors bought two of the products I wrote about.

Warming people up is important and I am trying to do this more rather than just hope they'll click on related banner ads.
