SEO is not working for me - Need Help

I have written my first ever long post by considering all the necessary SEO guidelines. But, my article is not even listed in the first 10 pages of search results. I am really tired and confused how it works. Can you please suggest me where is the problem? How to solve this issue?
My Keyword is "Organic Terrace Gardening" (link removed by moderator)

Please help me. Thanks in advance.

    Ok here goes:

    1. Title tag - Short - Include keyword once
    2. H1 - Variation of step one - hook - short and to the point
    3. First paragraph - try use the main keyword in the first sentence
    4. H2 - Can be anything related really, but an LSI keyword here will be good.
    5. Last sentence of article - Use main keyphrase in eiter first or last sentence in your very last paragraph. (don't ask how spiders work)
    6. Post Tags - related, obviosly
    7. Image ALT tags
    8. Video - if you have a video linked, link back to it

That's the basics of it really. But even though you wrote the best article, it won't get picked up immediately. Use something like "Feedshark" (google it) or Pingler to ping your post.

Umm... Yeah that's about it really. SEO is unfortunately more than just writing a great post these days (unless you can make it go viral... mm... think)

Lets start with this... An SEO strategy does not hinge on a single piece of content. I am a firm believer that there is some amount of value given to a page based on the context of the pages connected to that page. Writing a single post vs 5 or 6 posts on the same topic in context and linking those ( onsite SEO ) is going to have far better results.

All I can tell you is keep writing man.. you WILL NOT have results tomorrow.. a year from now after writing an article a week.. I suggest 2 a week and you should start seeing some traction. - AS LONG AS you keep an amount of CONTEXT with your content.

    Best of luck!

Hi, sounds like you wrote a pretty good pillar post, and if you've done all the tweaks of optimization, let it rest, it will get picked up by search engine over time.

However, I would like you to understand that pillar articles cannot thrive on their own, at least not organically, they need other supporting articles -in the context of an active blog.

So keep writing other shorter articles around the same topic and about the same/related keywords and you will send positive signals for Google to pick your pieces up.

And one of the most important keywords when it comes to SEO is "Patience".

        I hope that helps.

It sounds like you are on the right track but the biggest thing missing here is patience. It takes time to rank, keep writing articles and building back links. It will come.

There's a little bit more to SEO than just optimizing a page. I'm assuming this is a brand new website. It's got no authority at all and the only way you're going to get that is by getting other websites to link to your site/page or optimizing around something so obscure, nobody else is even trying to rank for it.

Ranking for anything even moderately competitive is pretty tough with a one article site but if it's truly an epic article, maybe some sites will link to it. Don't listen to the no-nothings here and elsewhere that tell you to post comments on blogs or forums with a link, set up links on web 2.0 properties or put your link on directories. If you can place the link yourself, consider it worthless and a complete waste of time.

In the meantime, keep creating more epic content and start building relationships with other website owners related to your niche so that you can leverage those relationships for links.

  • You have already been doing the right thing regarding on page SEO. Is posting your link to your article in Facebook groups, your only off page SEO method? There are many other forums and websites relating to your niche. It's your duty to market your article to drive traffic to your article.

Create more articles related to your niche topic, using keywords relating to your main keywords you wish to rank for. This way you don't look like a one trick pony with only one well written article. The more you write good content to deliver to your market, the more you will grow your audience.

Don't write articles just to rank #1 in Google search engine, but write good content that helps your readers/audience solve a problem, that they are willing to pay you for, if you can provide them with an immediate solution.

Search Engine Optimization takes time! Keep practicing SEO, and providing your audience with good content, so that they can share your content with others, because they found it really helpful. This way Google will see the relevancy of your content relating to your niche, and eventually you will rank on the first page of Google's search results organically.

Ranking your article doesn't work anymore if you don't rank your website as well. Increasing your authority and building relationships, all while you create more awesome content, is the way to become big on Google.

The. Quality of your content is just as important as the word count.Secondly, Do not expect 1 long blog post to rank on the top ten search resultsinstantly .Mind you it could be done but it takes time especially when you consider the other components involved . There are so many aspects of seo that can improve your ranking that I think you should focus on 1 maybe 2 or 3 basic seo techniques to use and measure your performance. Thirdly I think that you are growing frustrated so you might want to refocus and readjust your strategy.

This is what I learned from SEO

I started my website again in June 2018. My first to 5 articles were over 16,000 words.

After some time I checked on Google but never saw my post listed and I began to worry. I went in to search for a WHY...All I discovered was that my blog was NEW and Google did not trust my site yet.

So, what did I do? In order to make them trust it, I focused on Native Promotion via Quora.com

After about 5 months I can NOW see Google Giving me Traffic from one of those posts.

The trick is that the post is not listed on the first page but I still get TRAFFIC from Google.

    What am I SAYING?

Focus on writing good article with value and promote locally on Q & A sites and before yo know it you will start seeing the Wonders of Google TRAFFIC.

Good luck and if you have more reason PM,

Hope you follow all on-page rules in your post. Now follow the below steps too

1- create more quality content and do interlinking.
    2- focus on social sharing
    3- Create quality backlinks

    That's it.

  • Google is the most used search engine so it is extremely hard to get a good page ranking for good keywords unless you spend lots on SEO and when you use less competitive key words, you usually get lower quality traffic. So I myself stay away from trying to get good SE rankings and get my traffic mainly from blogging and social media

    Alright!

It seems you have implemented all the required on-page SEO rules necessary to make a great post.

Along with it, you need to make sure about backlinks your blog post owns. Having high-quality backlinks to your domain is also an important SEO ranking factor. Use SEO tools to analyze your backlinks such as Moz, Ahref, etc..

In addition to On-Page SEO, you are going to need to build a good amount of relevant backlinks to your site. Interlink your articles on your site as well.

In addition, continue to write good and quality content on a consistent basis. One good article isn't going to be enough if your site does not have enough overall content.

    These are the hardcore basics

    1st - thing first. Keywords:
Do your homework on the keywords and make sure they are really good keywords.

    2nd - On page Optimization
So many people get this wrong and don't follow through to get it right. I see a lot of SEO's posting how to do On-Page here and they are correct. DO NOT take any shortcuts on the On Page Optimization. This alone can make the biggest difference.

    3rd - Off Page SEO
Quality over quantity will always win. Have a schedule that starts slow and gradually get to a high frequency of posting and getting backlinks. All links are not equal and are not the same quality, Quality and relevance always wins.

    Best of LUCK!

as mentioned before, manage your expectations. it's 2019. simply writing an article, following the usual onsite seo standards and going the long copy route still won't get you far. the gardening niche was hot some years ago. nowadays it's as competitive as health, diet, golf, poker, get rich on the internet and seo for small businesses. writing random articles and waiting for them to rank is so 2006.

  • Its true that you should have patience! I am also beginner of SEO and have started practicing SEO. I was also impatient but when I learned that it takes time to rank your site in Google, I started building quality backlinks through Social Bookmarking, Blog Commenting, Forum submission and Article Submission.

So Have a patience! Your site will rank in Google.

    All the Best!
