How to measure good traffic on my website

I'm a newbie on this forum and it's my first steps in digital marketing My english is not perfect, so sorry for my grammar mistakes and I hope You'll understand what I mean with my post

OK, thing that I would like to ask you all to help is how to scale bad visitors and good visitors on my website. I have a conference website, which doesn't have any funnels like e-commerce, visitors are browsing web how they want: watching speakers, confirmed talks, previous conferences gallery or something else... The structure I made is that I've created separate pages to track who watched speakers page, confirmed talks list and so on.

Problem is that everybody could look all pages, but be not interested in that event, so it's hard to say if user visits confirmed talks list, he is interested in my conference.

Maybe someone was working on conferences marketing and could tell me some tips how to scale good visitors and make them buy conference tickets.

Tickets average price - 600$ and mostly buys companies (I mean administrators of a company and etc).

    You are asking what every webmaster in business would like to know and there's no easy answer. Probably the best way is a to offer a lead magnet (free video, ebook, report, etc.) that requires an email sign-up for access. You can use those emails for follow-up messages.

    In my business - selling marketing courses - you have lot of freebee seekers. One way to qualify potential customers is to offer a lead magnet (as above), but, instead of completely free, require a small shipping charge.That really separates the wheat from the chaff.

    If you go right to the very start.. how and where did someone click on a link to get to your site. This link is very critical in determining "Interest" if it is just a "hey click here" kind of thing.. interest will be hard to determine. if the link is "click here to learn more about Billy Bobs speaking engagements"... you pretty much know there is at least INTEREST.

    So when you are doing page descriptions or placing ads or placing links where ever you go.. you need to think INTENT in terms of the text you are leaving.

    That being said.. there is a big difference between "Interest" and "Intent" Interest is "click here to learn more about Billy Bobs speaking engagements" and Intent is "click here to buy tickets to Billy Bobs speaking engagements"

    So lets take this a step further and look at the buyers cycle:
    • Just looking
    • wanting more info
    • Comapring - looking for exact info
    • actually buying
    • After sales support

    So you have the just lookers.. people that get an idea in their head and they start searching and reading. You then get people that want more information.. does X come in this size, or that color , or whatever. They then will define their search specifically.. OR they will compare X to Y or X Y and Z etc. You then have the buyers.. they are full on looking to buy. and then after sales support.

    Just looking I would rank as interest. wanting more info is probably 50/50 between interest and intent. Comparing, the scales fall more towards intent than interest. Buying obviously is intent. and depending on what you have to offer.. after sales can be intent or interest.

    So using this simple model, you can start identifying who it is your content and links are targeting, and direct them to pages that better identify Interest vs intent

    This would be how I identify "bad" visitors vs "good" ones o the sites that I build.
