Newbie has a popular web app and can't monetize it, help needed

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie in affiliate marketing, I tried couple of things and no luck, any advice would be appreciated

I have a web app with free online tools for sysadmins using PowerShell language, not enough features for a subscription model, good connection with the users, viewed as a 'community' site

It gets 120k page view monthly, 10k registered users, traffic mostly from well developed countries (US, UK) , IT specialists mostly

I tried and failed with:

- Donations, I received around 250$ when the website was created (users them self told me to add donate button) Additional 100$ with release of new version after 1 year, now it's been 2 years since creation and donations went silent

- Amazon Affiliate, I introduced a single link in nav bar 'Powershell books' directly to amazon and I saw some conversions, 10$ daily, I though I can scale it with more visible content but Amazon deletes my account due to lack of original content - it's a web app not a blog

- Peerfly CPA offers, I've added static banner ads I thougth will be relevant to my users, but I got only single click and no conversions, I just got accepted to MaxBounty, I hope they'll have more relevant offers

From what I've read I honestly thought I got good quality traffic, but I must be doing something wrong as I can't monetize it, most of tutorials are for simple landing pages or blogs, do you have any advice for a web app?

So maybe create a small site that meets the criteria set out by Amazon to keep the $10 a day coming in.

Amazon affiliate also has "Native ads" which pays for impressions alone..
I think its like $5 / 10000 views....Dont hold me to that though

While you try to figure it out you could throw up Adsense to see how that works

I used to write articles about SQL and stuff, although StackOverFlow came along and stole all my traffic.

I monetised my articles by selling my range of developer tools. I didn't get huge conversion rates, but the articles did bring in the right audience.

You can try to promote CPA offers which are in similar niche as your app. It should bring you the best results.
