Affiliate Marketer Preferences

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm curious to find out more about some of the preferences affiliate marketers have for the merchants that they work with. I'm hoping that a couple experienced affiliates wouldn't mind sharing what they feel are best merchant practices, some of the things that they avoid when evaluating affiliate opportunities, etc. Basically what I'm asking for is like a general pro's and con's list so that when I'm ready to launch an affiliate opportunity I will know some of the things that attract good affiliates and things that affiliates generally don't like.

    You need to fully test the offer and have all aspects dialed in and be able to show that it's a high converting offer and have the stats to back it up?

    I'm what is considered a super affiliate. I have what I've always termed opportunity costs. During any given day/week I can only promote a certain number of offers. So I'm obviously going to promote those that have proven to produce the greatest ROI....provide me with the best opportunity to make the most amount of money.

    So don't expect affiliates to want to be guinea pigs to test your offer.

    Run your offer on a stable / respected 3rd party management platform. IMO, no serious affiliate is going to trust you if you are trying to run it with some cheap self-hosted software. I won't even consider such, as it a red flag to the financial stability of the advertiser.

    Weekly payouts are a must or at least have the option based on performance. Anything less than biweekly is unacceptable.

    Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

      Hey Diablo thank you for the quick reply and for sharing your preferences! Just to be clear, by stable 3rd party management platform do you mean an affiliate network like Clickbank, or are you referring to something else such as a payment provider like Paypal? (hopefully my question makes sense, I'm still new to figuring out the right lingo)

    The top 3 platforms are cake, hasoffers, hitpath. I have also worked with an advertiser that used offerit. It was acceptable.

    They should all have some form of a basic starter package. My preference is cake. The link for their basic package is https://getcake.com/signup/?c=2

    As far as getting paid, my preference is via ACH.
