How to get backlinks in 2020?

Wondering if anything has changed or will change in regards to getting backlinks. Some of the methods I'm aware of are broken link building, blog comments, social media engagement, guest posting, forum posts. Any new strategies or updates to existing strategies?

Lets break this down a bit.... Of the things you have mentioned only TWO actually gives you a "Back Link"
    • Broken Link - this CAN but not always give you a back link
    • Blog Comments - more often than not this would be a no-follow type link
    • Social Media - No-Follow
    • Guest Posting - This one CAN but not always give you a back link
    • Forum Posting - these are more often than not No-Follow

Kinda add to the list Quora Q/A ( which is No-Follow )

Social media posting is a source of traffic - no back linking is going to happen here.. and if SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) is getting traffic from search engines.. then getting traffic directly from Facebook or Instagram obviously is not SEO

Blog Commenting.. there is the very rare off chance that you might find a blog that is do-follow, but the overall juice being passed is minimal at best and probably not worth the effort. However, much like Social Media... if your comments are quality authoritative comments it is possible to draw an amount of direct traffic - but again this directly is NOT SEO.

My overall goto answer on how to get backlinks... Write QUALITY content that is worth sharing... Share your content socially so that it is seen... and have a centralized "Home" for all of your content ( your website ) where other people with websites could link to your content ( this being a back link )

Find a slew of sites in your industry that have high web metrics AND are not your direct or indirect competitor. Those people need the help of some sort. Give it to them.

We create open graph images for prospects if a page is missing one. Or write them a new SEO title. Or get them a significant backlink.

Something to show you want to be a referral partner and are willing to give before you get.

Then when it's time, ask for the link.

  • A good SEO strategy involves building backlinks using Google's own properties, and then interlink them. This is referred to as Google entity stacking. When done correctly, it is a powerful way to rank your site quickly.

Seems that any good link building strategy will include outreach. Write good content and then find other websites that would possibly want to link to it. After identifying them, you must reach out and ask for a link. Organic link building is hard to come by. It takes much more work than it used to.

PBN backlinks (private blog network) still work very well especially if the article (where your backlink is placed) is at least 500 words long and is related to your market niche with the right keywords, it is not necessary that the whole website is related to your niche, but the article must be absolutely, to give the right power to the backlink...

One of the best strategies for building a backlink is to search for a website related to your niche. Go check the website's top pages and search for backlinks of those top pages through SEMrush or Ubersuggest.

Make sure the websites from where your going to take a backlink has relevancy with your niche and also have a DA of 50+.

Next what you can do is take that full content and create an infographic out of it and ask them to publish that Infographic on their website below the same content.

An infographic is a combination of specific numbers and visual content which helps the user to get the information of the whole article in one go.

Basically, everyone knows how to look for backlinks. Nothing has changed much - try to make a natural increase in link mass, do't leave links to spam resources. The built-up link mass should be as natural as possible - links should be from forums, directories, blogs, social networks, comments and so on. The main thing is quality resources, even if there are not many.

Do a bit of linkbuilding everyday on higher domain websites (plus good trust flow to citation flow ratios), and focus on quality content.

The future of link building is quality content and placing links where it is relevant to the content. Avoid spun thin content.

    Here's an easy one:

Run an image search on images FOUND on your site (you have rights to these).

Hire a VA to find the contact info of the sites that link to you and also to FILTER the search list (you want sites that have links worth having - ie., niche specific, high domain authority, etc etc)

Get your VA to email these and ask them that you own the rights to the images and they CAN KEEP USING your image PROVIDED they link back to you - either through an anchor (BEST) or naked url (OK)

Do this right and you'll rocket up the rankings

Many SEO agencies actually charge $5000 per month for this kind of thing. You can do it yourself or spend $30 on a VA to do it for you.

I think all that matters is the way you generate links, no matter whatever technique you are using, just make sure it is useful and is from a less or no spammy sites. if we talk about techniques like tier linking, it was considered black hat as most of the people were using it that way, but today most of the experts are following this as white/grey hat. If your content is unique and is considered as a quality content by search engines, it doesn't matter which technique is that.
You'll be amazed but I usually go for new sites as well along with established ones. For Example, Yelp.com - a directory site - which is the well-established site that may generate leads for me, on the other hand, a new business listing site like HighFiveList.com can provide me a free listing and can generate me leads too. Just make sure the new site you're posting on is active and a team of experts is working on it with no spam score (there are a variety of ways to check these parameters), this would indicate that eventually it would make an online presence and benefits you in the future. Once these new sites are developed it may get harder for you to take a link from them or they may charge you for that, so if you find the new good site I would recommend going for it.
