Help with web strategy for a product

Hello,
I need your advice on this: I am developing accounting software, I have already purchased an ORG domain that contains the two main keywords for the product and the niche; Another domain with the brand name for the software.

My idea is:
1. Create a blog in the ORG to write specific articles about the niche with links to my software website, like a promotion.
2. The other domain would be exclusively for the software.

Is this strategy correct?

    The blog domain is for the purpose of blogging and generating leads and within your posts you will be redirecting people to the software domain to make the purchase is that correct?

    Blogging is a good long term strategy, you should also look at adding paid advertising to the mix, I guess it just depends on your marketing strategy whether paid advertising is a good fit for you or not.

      So the blog idea, is good? I was reading here and in others website about that SEO strategy.

    SEO is a big deep hole, my suggestion is to try selling your software offline as well, especially since its accounting software, put your message infront of Network marketers, that work from home? they would probably need what you have to offer?

    I'm not sure why two domains were necessary. You could have just as easily blogged on the brand's domain name, which would have been better for the domain's SEO in the long run.

    I have a feeling that you did it this way because you think that having keywords in a domain name will help it rank. It does not help at all!

      "blogged on the brand's domain name" : Yes I plan to do that there too, with some tech articles and the software manual, maybe a support forum.

      "having keywords in a domain...": I read here and in almost all SEO experts about having that is one of the main recommendations. Why did you said the opposite?

        There is a ton of really bad information on this forum because there are a whole lot of people who have no clue what they are doing. It's the blind leading the blind in so many cases.

        They read it somewhere in a post that was created a decade ago and repeat it, and then 2 people repeat it which becomes 4, then 8, etc.

        Google stopped giving a boost to keywords in the domain back in 2012 (see Deconstructing The Google EMD Update). It was frequently called the "EMD Penalty" (Exact Match Domain) because so many low quality sites with keywords in the domain got hammered and lost their rankings when Google changed their algorithm back then. It wasn't a penalty; they just stopped giving an artificial boost just because sites had keywords in their domain.

    A better strategy would be to mesh both of these site ideas into one hybrid website where one niche helps the other.

    The nature of the problem is different from this. It doesn't really matter what site you use... but I actually like the separation of the marketing platform from the delivery platform.

    Email domain health is an issue if you're using your main domain as the sender all the time. A couple of spam complaints and whammo--you're in trouble.

    So having these separated is probably a good idea.

    Now as to the real problem: WHO are you going to get to see your marketing side, and WHERE are they going to come from?

    It doesn't matter how you've set things up if nobody is there to see it.

      I think in that too when I decide to go with 2 domains...

      My main promotion channel will be the "old" one: local and personal promotion, but I want to try the online marketing too and the comments here are very useful for point me in the correct direction.

    I don't think 2 domains would be necessary. If you need to separate your blog from your software that bad, make a subdomain for it, something like blog.domainname.org.

    Besides, I agree with dave_hermansen, an exact match domain is not necessary. Yes, it might still give you some little SEO boost, but there's a potential for penalty longer down the road when you start doing link building and don't have your own brand name.

    Don't need 2 domain.
    I think you use blog on main domain.
    You can use google ads to advertising your product. If you want to use SEO very difficult to start
