I'd highly suggest you start here. This thread was created by dearly departed WF Hall of Famer Jeffrey - and is chock full of useful information for beginners in the affiliate marketing space. It easily could've been made into a lead magnet or other digital product, but Jeffrey took great effort to instead avail it here for this very type of questions and member. My advice would be to read it through (including the comments, where other, immensely valuable threads are linked to such as Savidge's ebay thread) and apply.

Since you are working for an ad network,
you are in the perfect position to gain lots
of invaluable inside information as well as
on-the-job training. Learn as much as you
can from that.

Besides that, my best advice is to read a
few books on the topics that interest you,
there are tons about affiliate marketing,
and then learn by doing.

Setup some side hustle(s) and get busy
doing something.

That is the best way, IMO.

I'm certain you're aware of this, but I just want to add how incredibly important MINDSET is. Think about how you're thinking about stuff, and your eyes will open to opportunities available to you and to actions you should take. Pretty basic, sure, but definitely something I remind myself to stop and do daily.

But on a more nuts & bolts level , the thread mentioned above by Matthew Stanley is a great place to start.

Ad network it's a perfect place to start, first of all I guess you have a mentor, so you can ask him anything and learn from his experience. Also, be ready that you will have to study a lot and this is a good thing as you are already here in this awesome community

Affiliate marketing is a good place to start as a beginner, you end up developing skills that you might not have had before, such as developing a WordPress site, understanding how the process works.

You can sell other people's products be it a service or physical product, you understand how to drive traffic to your sites, and how the marketing process works. But above all, it's the skills that you develop that become a long-term skill that can serve you well.

Hi Dana, if you're a newbie in affiliate marketing, I recommend you to start collaborating with startups, like Audext. I know from personal experience that the most loyal advertisers that offer the highest commission rates are startups because they need to grow from scratch and they aren't afraid of trying almost all types of advertising. And you can always discuss some exclusive conditions with them, even if you don't have much traffic

From my personal experience with affiliate marketing, I can tell you that the best way to learn affiliate marketing is from experience. I understand you are working for an ad network and may not have the bandwidth to experiment with affiliate marketing full time, so here are my suggestions for something you can try during your free time.

- I'd start with Amazon Affiliate Program - only because it's harder to fail with Amazon.
- Then I'd go with Flexoffers Affiliate Program - their platform has >10K Companies (big and small) with varied commission structures you can work with.
- For newbies/experienced marketers, there is an educational platform called "Marketers Workshop" (.org) that houses in-depth teaching material on every topic needed for an Internet Marketer to succeed - Affiliate Marketing being one of them.
They have a high commission (>50%) affiliate and reseller program that you can take advantage of while/after learning. I think they have a promotion going on now where you can join as a reseller/affiliate for free. This one is a subscription program too - so your earnings will be recurring.

Join a company as a intern and you will learn way more.
