Actually, there's no such thing as a dumb question!

If you hire a digital marketer to build and promote your brand, do they do it through your website or there own.

Same question for Affiliate marketing is it promoted through the customers website and social media accounts or their own?

I seriously cannot find a straight answer to this!

People do this both ways, that's why. Some agencies keep possession of the digital real estate upon which the client's platform is built. For example, the agency hosts it through Kartra or another platform. They buy accounts in bulk and resell access to the end customer. Then, if the client doesn't pay their monthly bill, the agency can pause the whole thing.

As the customer, why would you allow this to happen? The not savvy run into this problem. It can lead to other weird situations like the customer wants to leave, and they've paid their bills, but the agency holds the platform hostage to try and keep the customer. You can guess how such situations resolve.

The savvy customers give their funnel builders and other helpers temporary access. Once the project is done, they remove that access.

The answer is quite simple, the main promotion channels should be your website and your social media channels, but it can be combined with manager's resources, like their own pages. I mean, why not, you will have bigger coverage with this approach. Once, the project is done, you will still have all your promotion campaigns and your audience.
