How do I attract a wider audience of new prospects?

I work for a collection of small businesses. We are successful mostly by referrals. We want to attract a wider audience of new prospects. I'd love hints and tricks on how you would do that.

We have been posting content on all social media channels for a year consistently but it doesn't attract new people.

Right off the bat you can do paid advertising. If you've been in business for years, you should already know the lifetime value of a customer in your business. This will tell you how much you can afford to lose on advertising before you acquire a customer. Start here as this is the fastest.

If you're looking for a fast free way, go back and do some backend marketing to your current customers for more repeat business.

Online you can go on Youtube and start making videos that appeal to your targeted audience. Grow your channel and fill it with informative videos, make sure you lead people back to your website.

In addition to paid advertising, depending on the type of businesses and niches, cold email could also work. Not much info provided in your post so not sure if influencer marketing could work.

What do you mean by: it doesn't attract new people? Do you mean, nobody reads, views, likes, etc.
    Or
You have views and interactions on social but not buyers?

The first one would mean you are appearing in front of the wrong crowd, or not at all.

The second one would mean you do not know how to move them from your social to your sales page/ the next part of your sales funnel.

As mentioned before, ads can help. You could also do SEO, and pay influencers on social to brag about you.

Before you do that, how are your other conversion points working?

Referrals bypass conversion points, leads from SEO, ads, social do not.

I would say that you basically need to find places where your targeted audience visits, as it's obvious that they aren't so present on different social media as you don't manage to attract enough traffic from there. So, you need to dig more, do a more thorough research, analyze your Google Analytics reports to see traffic sources and then to try to reach to new customers on those sources. They could be present on many different places like forums, some groups, they can maybe be easily reached out via emails, and so on. Answers will become more clear after you perform some analyses, and you can also do some testing to see which sources are bringing better conversions.
