Blogging For Passive Income as a Beginner

Hey Everybody,

So I'm a middle aged hardworking mother, pastor's wife with a full time job plus I'm a little active in my community (nothing too time consuming). I would like to have many sources of passive income because I'm tired of working hard for not much return. I've heard that blogging can be useful for someone like me both personally (therapeutic while creating a community with like-minded people who can provide and gain tips from others) and business wise (to use this blog as a way to create income once my business websites are up).

(edit by mod to remove link/product mention)

I would like a blog that both helps people and creates an income. I don't want to create another job for myself. I am also trying to get the best start in this. Guidance? Thoughts? Anyone? Please & thank you!

My advice if you've never blogged before? Consider just starting. Yep, don't wait for instructions or anything else. If you have webhosting install WordPress and just start playing with it. Write some things. See how it all works together. Or if you don't have webhosting, you can do some experimenting with a free account on Wordpress.com.

More than once over the years, I waited until I thought I knew enough about something to get started (lots of courses and ebooks and studying) but then quickly lost interest once I started doing. I've learned to just dig in, start learning by doing, and then it all starts coming together or I move on.

But that's just me and my personality.
    Good luck.
    Mark

Blogging is definitely a good attraction marketing tool because it allows you to geo target your target audience with keywords .

Think of it like a marathon and not a sprint .

Set up your blog and start posting.

I'm totally agree with you sir, You differentiate Passion and money very well if a person just trying to do make money without passion In my opinion he will not be successful at all. Passion in the respective field is compuslory. Link

I would recommend following the SmartBlogger blog and learn the ropes of blogging there. When i first started blogging i used Google's Blogger service, then eventually switched to Wordpress. I think Blogger is easier for newbies, but Wordpress is more robust. You have to approach blogging as if it were a product. You have to find a niche, drive traffic, and monetize it. If anything, driving traffic is the most important part of the equation. Master traffic generation and blogging will become easy for you.

I would agree with this. Blogger is good for starting as its similar in some ways to WordPress, but eventually you will migrate to WordPress for the more available functionality and also because itrs something you will own, whereas with Blogger you won't.

  • Unfortunately blogging is a fulltime job, unless you outsource tasks to virtual assistants.

    * Make sure you know which niche you're blogging for

    * Who is your target markets and what products and services will you be promoting to them with your blog, to monetize it?

    * Will your niche be willing to pay you for the solutions that you provide and promote through your blog?

Blogging is profitable if you are skilled at selling information online. So make sure to pick a niche where your prospects/readers are willing to pay for what you have to offer.

Treat blogging as a fulltime business and not a hobby, then you will reap the rewards of an online business owner.

So do your research and emulate someone who is already successful with blogging. Buy their blogging course if they offer any and apply the strategies that you've learned in the course. Plan to succeed! So first invest in your blogging education, before you just start blogging aimlessly, hopelessly, hoping for some online success.

      No it's not.

Depending on the extent of what OP will write, blogging can take anywhere between 2-3 hours daily based from personal experience. Surely 2-3 hours is part-time, innit?

      But I might be wrong.

It depends on the topic and how much time you really want to dedicate to it. You don't need to post every day. There are a lot of factors that determine the success of a blog and whether or not it's going to make you money.

  • If you want to have a successful blog, you need to publish consistently. The best way to do that is to plan your topics ahead of time and create a content calendar. Whenever you have a new idea, put it in your calendar. This helps ensure you always have something to write about.

I suggest you to do writing ASAP you don't need any skills just select your blog niche carefully. Usually select that niche which is not very competitive. If you don't have time then you can hire some writing services as well. Many blog writers are doing this and earning a handsome amount in this way. But remember in order to earn from the blog your Domain Authority level should be good. Otherwise, no one will give you article for publishing. Don't write on topics like casino, crypto, CBD etc because Google will think it as a spam and lower your rating in Google search. Try to avoid such topics in your blogs as well but please do open the Guest Post section for new budding writers.

Blogging is a great outlet for a passion. It can be used to share your expertise with a large audience. It can be used for career purposes, or simply for fun. As a bonus, blogging allows you to connect with people who share your passion. If you're passionate about something, you can start a blog focused on that niche. It will also give you exposure and open doors to further your career.

Learning new skills. There are many reasons to start a blog, including learning new skills. Blogging allows you to improve your writing skills and gain exposure in your chosen field. Writing for a blog also gives you a platform to express yourself creatively, which can boost profits from other products you may sell. In addition, blogging can help you develop a connection with your readers. In addition, you may develop a fan base by following others on social media networks.

Independence. Another great advantage of blogging is the freedom to work from anywhere and make your own hours. A downside to blogging, however, is that it requires a lot of time, and a long time before you will see any payoff. However, it can be a rewarding career and a way to pursue your passions.

And if you start a blog, apply for( Edited by Moderator ) to monetise your blog as early as possible.

Sorry then, I don't know what to tell you. I have been in this business for 26 years and have about 32 websites and 12 YouTube channels and running Successfull blog is a full-time business.

You're going to have to create copy for it, do "or have" graphics done for it, run and manage affiliate ads on the blog "after all you're doing this to make money right?" plus much much more that goes into the management, upkeep, maintenance etc of just running the blog.

So I guess it just comes down to MOTIVATION really? If needing the money isn't that big of an issue for you, then you'll probably keep trucking the same way you currently are.

  • Just start!

Consider having an IG account, too! IG and Tiktok are great for personal blogs. You don't have to think about how many you have to post, just try doing it and do it consistently.
