(New). Opinions on ways to promote a review website/blog?

Hi all, not sure if it would help to post the link to the site? Don't want to incase its against the rules?

So anyways, its a nice little review website I made. Just starting out, taking my time to learn the real steps without the usual shortcuts.

So, where I am now. Site is up, with a couple reviews. (Automotive products, Mens health products, gaming, lighting LED/RGB, etc etc....)

So far, I am just posting them on certain Reddit subs and trying to build my Twitter and Insta following to eventually post the reviews there.

So, I would LOVE to hear some thoughts on what everything thinks. Non-paid and paid.

I have 3 hours per day I can dedicate to this site, so I am eager to get going. I have heard such great thinks about this place, so I look forward to it!

If you are reviewing 'anything and everything'... WHO is your target market?

Will the site be monitized...if so, how?

I am targeting a specific group of categories. So, it will be pretty broad. Gaming, RGB lighting, Pet toys, Car care products, mens beauty products, etc.

So, I suppose my target audience is based on what the review will be.

      Monetized. Yes, Amazon affiliate.

May I suggest you do not go broad from the beginning? It's harder.

As regards ways to promote it:
        SEO,
        social media,
        paid traffic.

Most important thing: build a list.

As to which traffic-getting methods to use, depends on your resources. Ideally, you'll use many.

Think of your target audience: where are they, what is the easiest way to reach a lot of them for little money/effort?

Once you've answered that, you'll know whether you should use facebook, Google ads, newspaper ads, radio, etc.

From the little you've posted, I have the feeling you've not niched down. Do it, it will save you a lot of effort.

Pet toys is not enough... cat toys will get you better responses... That does not mean you have to have just cat toys, it means you should have a well-developed section of your site that's about cat toys and your ads for it should not be about pet toys but about cat toys, even better, a particular kind of pet toys.

Also, your site structure should be SILO (Google Silo for SEO, or check out Bruce Clay's articles on that.

If your target market is wide and varied, you need to think of ways for people who come to your site to find what they want quickly.
If you have a page of 6 reviews and each one covers a different niche and people have to click too many times to find out what they want, then you'll never win.

Without seeing your site, I can't really offer more specific suggestions but feel free to DM me once you have enough posts.

FYI First, since you are new here. Please go to your user name in the black bar. Then highlight it to see the drop-down menu. Switch to classic. Then use the quote button to reply to the person your responding to.

To answer your question above absolutely. Stick with one Market then niche it down to a smaller market. If someone clicks on a gaming product then goes to a sight selling automotive parts. They are going to hit the back button.

You're making the mistake of being too broad. Maybe your intentions were to lead people to individual review pages based on niche, and sell them that way. The problem is you're spreading yourself too thin. This is a problem because if you promote via paid advertising, you will pay ALOT just to get people with different interests to your individual review pages.

If you go the free marketing route, your time will be ineffectively used as you will have to spend all day doing one free marketing strategy after another for each individual product. Imagine if you created Youtube videos all day for the products you're promoting. Depending on the quantity of products you have, you'd literally spend all day trying to get traffic to the pages. That's not a business. You'd earn more and work less working at the gas station part time.

    That's my opinion anyway.

If you decide to go forward, Pinterest is great for getting direct traffic to your site based on interest. You could create boards relevant to the products you're reviewing, and continue to add content to your boards as your site grows. But then again, you'd find yourself promoting products all day on Pinterest, as creating 1 pin effectively can take up to 10 minutes.

I know you've already built the site. That's the bad part - you probably dont want to start over and build something else. You're probably emotionally attached to it. But it's in your best interest to create a niche site, and not continue down this path. Good luck.

There are many ways to promote a review website or blog. One way is to place a link to the website or blog. Another way is to write a blog post about how the website or blog is useful and why people should visit it.

You can also share articles that you have written on social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Finally, you can give away freebies or discounts to people who visit the website or blog.

  • Your review websites has to be congruent with what you're promoting. Make 3 different review websites. One for gaming, one for lighting and one website for men's health.

Focus on building one review website in a particular niche first, like men's health and then make sure you can get it to generate a consistent stream of weekly income first before you start reviewing products in other niches.

Make sure you've mastered the process of making money online first before you start spreading your efforts on promoting various unrelated things. You'll want to be known online for being an expert in your niche. So if your reviewing and promoting men's health products and services, then you'll want to have a well respected reputation in the industry first before anyone will buy anything that you're reviewing online.
