What do you find difficult about starting a blog?

That's a lot of questions for a first post.

As someone who launched a blog back in 2008:

1: Being patient was my greatest challenge. I impatiently rushed ahead with a poor strategy, struggled and failed for a long time. Eventually, I became frustrated or just flat out disgusted enough with failing that I put my ego to the side, learned how to blog from pros, put their advice into action and began to succeed.

2:That is a tough question because pennies arrived months into my career, dollars a bit beyond and it became a wild income ride, for a bit. This is a common loaded new blogger question because no matter the income claim, and the amount, no beginner blogger has any idea of the emotional intelligence one needs to develop to blog:

- the right way for years as you make a few pennies, then a few bucks, then a little bit more
- patiently, persistently and generously as those 0 dollar weeks try to trigger your panic

Shift your focus from asking about how much money a blogger made to how the individual made the money. Expect to experience a quantum leap in your emotional intelligence the moment you become intensely curious about the blogging process and lose a strong interest in blogging outcomes.

1) I've been publishing on my personal blog for 2.5 years and in the last few months started a professional blog.

Blogging is definitely a skill to develop over the long term. Patience is a virtue and I've realised what a hurry I've been in.

Setting up technical things like websites is much simpler these days but you need patience for that too.

Any good marketer knows that providing valuable info to people is the key for a profitable business. Focus on answering peoples' questions, their problems, their challenges and be consistent to build the Know/Like/Trust Factor so people flock back to you.

Well i am stuck at the first two phases, to run a blog is my dream and still i am stuck at it, what i thinks that our initial most important thing is to research a topic, that is at which niche i could start it. Then comes the keyword selection and sorting of them at what keyword we would focus more and what will need less push.

I was frightened that no one will read my posts. Later I realized that this is not entirely true. You should write about something you are passionate about and try to get quality traffic. But if you have no audience, you will have to work harder.

Writing a blog requires a certain amount of patience. Despite the many obstacles, it is well worth it once you get started.

So, I started with small steps and made the most of them. The most important step is to not let your fear of the unknown hold you back. Instead, start by focusing on a few key topics.

Building a successful blog takes time, effort, and patience. Although anyone can launch a blog in a few hours, building a profitable one takes time and perseverance.

Although many people are attracted to the prospect of blogging and earning a living from it, only a few succeed. Luckily, there are many modern content management systems that allow people to blog without having to learn HTML coding. But even with all these features, it is crucial that you spend time creating a quality blog.

Exactly the same question came into my mind why need to learn html for blogging.

I've already started a personal blog in 2014, but stopped writing because I simply lost the creativity and passion to write stuff.

It was also time consuming writing content (juggling between a day job, rest days, and writing).

Why wouldn't you take assistance from the writer? it will be very helpful in your case.

Fortunately, it is comparatively relatively easy to create a blog these days.

It doesn't require excessive know how and the learning process to find your way around a wordpress website is also relatively pleasant.

Therefore, since I started my blog in 2019, I have actually found my way around quite well as long as you don't complicate things too much in terms of themes, layout etc

I think blogging itself is pretty easy if you don't make life too hard for yourself, that is, if you just write from your heart and your passion or your experiences without constantly thinking about having to please someone or being super perfect.

You then improve with every post and just have a bit of fun for yourself.

I think the reason why many people are afraid to start a blog is because they think they can only be successful if they are super professional and know 200 SEO rules.

But that's not true if instead you just relax a bit and just be yourself.

How long it took me to earn my first money with it I can't really say anymore, but I didn't really care - and I think that's the crucial point, if you distance yourself a bit from the result, it will quickly come by itself.

I started my blog on June 23, 2022.
Till the time of writing this, I have been able to get only 1065 hits to it.
I struggle to get hits.
I hunt for the right long tail KWs, write unique content, do SEO, share and re-share on Social Media.

The hits just don't come in.
I struggle day and night to do this.

I wonder if I will ever succeed -
Or whether I will give up!
I have no idea what to do.
Just thought I will share my 2 cents.

Traffic is the first thing that keeps running in your mind when starting a blog. It takes at least 6 months to see organic traffic coming to your blog. As a previous member said, patience is the key when running a blog. Make sure you post genuine content twice or thrice a week so your blog appears fresh.

For me, it is finding a niche

Find my audience and the message that resonates with it. I have had two experiences starting a blog doing more or less the same, one in 2015, where I had crickets as a result for a long time and a second experience in 2017 where I change from audience, niche and message and my blog exploded to 16k subscribers in 5-6 months

We've all been there. Do your own research, study, and plan the next steps. It's what I did.

Starting a blog is easy. Sticking with it and growing it into a successful blog is another story. There are so many abandoned blogs online, it's sad.

It took me several years of blogging pretty much daily to accomplish much with my two blogs. Both blogs have around 1,200 posts. They are each about 10 years old.

It took me a couple years to get the blog paying for itself and about 5 years to provide a few thousand dollars per month, and about 7-8 years to provide a full-time, livable income.

Of course, that was just my experience. Individual results will vary. Blogging is a long-term play, not a short-term way to make money.

The most difficult part is searching the idea on which a blog should start to gain maximum traffic.

I hate all this technical hurdles that you have to overcome. Even though they are easier now with WordPress and whatnot they're still so many different variables. I wish that I could just slap something up there and start riding. But I got to pick out a name for the website download a bunch of plugins and all of this stuff. I think I'm just going to seek out fiber or something next time I start blogging.

No one is going to give you money for free. It is not enough to put together a blog, write a couple of messages, and rest while waiting for the money to come. In the first few weeks: You'll have doubts because nobody knows about your blog, and you won't get any traffic.

Never considered it as a problem. Just register a domain, setup WordPress and start posting. Can it be even easier than that?

Building a successful blog is a contest to see who can talk to themselves the longest...

People that give up after 6 months or less of writing because nobody visits their website are guaranteed to fail.

When you're patient and don't worry about whether you have readers or make money, potentially for years, success will often find you one day when you least expect it.

You can start seeing some minor results in 6 months. However, if you cannot handle 2-3 years of talking to yourself without big results, I would recommend trying a different kind of online business.

1- What was stopping me? Fear, I feared I wouldn't be good enough, but I realized that I had to let go of being the "know it all" that I let go.

2- Finding a mentor, its quite slim and I feel this will only waste your time if you won't start without finding a mentor.

3- What I Found difficult/time-consuming was finding the time that worked best for me. I have a little one that requires attention, so early morning worked best, to get the creativity flowing as soon as I woke up.

4- I'm still not making income from it, but if you count me getting a job in copywriting than I would say 6 months. I just did freestyled writing until I landed a job with someone who likes my style/way of writing.

The difficult / most consuming stuff is really writing the actual blogs.

Blogs take keyword research time, topic research time, and then you gotta write the thing and then edit it.

In fact I go so annoyed with it I made my own that writes an SEO-optimized article for me in a couple minutes, and then I take maybe 5 mins to edit it to generate a well-worded blog post.

For me personally, I enjoy the actual act of researching keywords and understanding what people like reading about than I do actually doing the writing. So nowadays, the most difficult part of my blog isn't writing the articles, but spending time with backlinking.

Blogging makes good income. The money that you would make with a blog is the most reliable and recurring income you can generate. For those who failed before, all I can say to them is: read the tips below and try again.

It turns out that everyone has a different set of tasks that they find difficult, when it comes to starting a blog.

Here is what I can share, in nutshell ...

I've coached people and built a lot of blogs for clients over the years, successfully. From my experience, here is what you need to do to make sure that you are actually successful:

When getting started, allocate a small budget, and outsource as many tasks as possible, including writing the blog posts.

Later on, as your blog starts to grow, you can gradually pick up the few tasks that you want to do yourself.

In other words ...

As a beginner, get freelancers to start and grow your blog for you. Here is why this is super important.

By outsourcing most of the tasks to experienced freelancers, you achieve the following:

1) --- You remove the need to go through a lengthy and tedious learning curve. For example, you don't need to first learn the technical stuff; let the freelancers do technical tasks like installing themes, setting up plugins, adding a contact form, etc.
All you need to do is give them the list of tasks and they will get things done.

2) --- You immensely reduce the risk of making mistakes and experiencing errors that may delay or block your progress. Most people fail to start a blog simply because they get discouraged along the way by the constant need to correct mistakes and errors.

3) --- You avoid the tendency of postponing and procrastinating. And most importantly, you avoid getting trapped into the pursuit of perfection. You will be surprised by the number of people who fail to make progress with their blog simply because of wasting time on things that don't really matter, things that don't lead to making money.

From my many years of experience in helping people to start and grow their own blogs, and generating a good monthly income, that is what I discovered as the best way to avoid failure and actually succeed.

Consistency was by initial blockade. It took me a while to be consistent about my blogging. It took trial and error to find my style of consistency too.

I don't define consistency as posting as much as you can. I define it as posting at your comfortable level consistently.

I actually didn't attempt to make money until after 5 years. My 5 year plan was to get the blog known and be a leader in my niche (which is regional). This is year 6, I now monetize and make enough for things to pay for itself and still give me a little bit of profit which I put right back into the brand for now.

It's all about finding your comfortable groove.

The most time consuming part about starting a blog is the marketing of it. I consider creating content as part of marketing for my blog. Also, i have a hard time waking up early to start working on my blog everyday, so that is a challenge for me. I want to find a balance of work time, and free time - so i can enjoy what i do, but also enjoy my life also.

I just launched a blog and I would say the hardest part was the keyword research. I spent a few days learning this skill and in the end I found a niche.

When I started my blog on the mobile niche, I find difficult to write the content and scrapping the outlines.
