Using Craigslist Image Ads to Split Test

I really don't see much around on split testing craigslist ads.
What a shame. Many people create an ad and leave it at that. As if you know what is going to work.
The big guys in the print world have been split testing for decades to find out which headline, which bodycopy, which graphics work best. What makes the internet any different?
When I am creating new image ads for clients that post on craigslist, backpage, kijji etc. I strongly encourage them to split test the ad with alternate headlines and graphics. Some do most do not.
Why would people do that. It is almost second nature for many who use adwords. That is how they find out the best ad for their product.
Craigslist is a very powerful marketing tool.
This tool can be used very effectively when done correctly. That means a comprehensive ad campaign that uses split testing. It allow one to hone in on the approach and then work it hard to achieve the responses you deserve.
