I'm sure they are doing it wrong!

As a new internet marketing entrant I am loath to push my opinions forward but I look at all the forum posts about the off line cash cow and wonder why I join the dots differently to everybody else.
The only real reason I can think of is that I am still in the off line commercial world.
All the OLCC posts I have seen relate to search engine optimisation and getting visitors to a clients site. Actually, that isn't quite true. They are more about getting him to Google Nº1 spot with long tailed keywords - no matter how many searches the keyword gets and no matter where the searcher lives.
Am I being stupid in thinking that we should actually try to achieve what the off line client wants to achieve?
Am I so out of touch that I haven't noticed that businessmen no longer want to see an immediate cut in expenditure and an increase in sales?
I have created a 12 page PDF to explain what I think internet marketers should be doing. It is 5,948 words on 644 lines of solid information. There are no links, no graphics and I pull no punches as far as my opinion of current and past practice are concerned.
I am waiting for the PDF to be reviewed by someone who knows more about the sensibilities of internet marketers and how much honesty they can face than I do but I am sure I have a product that will sell even if all it does is point out the bleeding obvious.
If I am right in what I think, this will be a unique product (I certainly haven't seen anybody else use this approach to demonstrate real, week on week cash savings and the difference between a paying customer and a browser) putting any internet marketer into an unassailable position when justifying his services in blunt, plain English. No acronyms, no smoke, no mirrors, no false claims, no hype - on second thoughts, maybe internet marketers won't like it. My pricing is very low, too.
Dohhhhh!

Nearly forgot, I have created a sort of sales page that stretches from left to right on your screen so, if you want to get a better idea of how I have written this, go to warning - sorry - you can't download anything. It's just a rough outline.Posted 17th February 2009 at 10:27 AM by artwebster
