Self-proclaimed Experts - Watch Out!

Hello Fellow Warriors,

There have been a lot of newer people showing up to the Warrior Forum over the last few months that are proclaiming themselves to be experts in certain areas of internet marketing.

While this is perfectly fine if it is true, there is a problem that many of us may not be aware of when it comes to those who base their "expertness" on simply knowing a technique that worked for them in the past.

You see, things change very quickly in the internet marketing world. Article Marketing, Blogs, Forum Marketing, Web design and many other marketing tools and techniques change just as quickly as the search engine algorithms. In fact, many of these are directly associated with the SE's.

If a person continues to make posts about something that was working well 6 months ago, but may not be effective anymore, then what kind of expert is that person really?

Not much of one as far as I am concerned. And I say this for one major reason...

Because you could be ruining dreams and destroying people's lives!

If you are going to proclaim yourself as an expert and then make posts on this forum telling people what to do, you should make sure that what you are telling them is still working!

People listen to you. People follow your advice. People expect you to lead them with the most up-to-date and current information possible!

If you are not a true expert in the field and you are simply posting by the seat of your pants, there is a possibility that you could be leading HUNDREDS - maybe THOUSANDS of people straight into the poor house!

With expert status comes immense responsibility!

So before you make that next post, before you start leading people down a path that you only THINK or HOPE will work, remember the awesome power that you are invoking and the amount of people, families, children, young entrepenuers and anybody else that could be affected by what you are about to tell them.

If you continue spreading information that may not be effective (or outright guessing), you won't be around much longer! But if you are consistently offering brand new information that you can back up with solid data, examples and personal experience, then you will only be "self-proclaimed" for a short time. Pretty soon the entire community will look up to you as the expert you really are!

Respectfully,
Allen Graves

I was thinking the same thing...

back in August I had what I thought was a 'sand box' issue with a blogspot blog I made for a local moving company.

Turns out that blogspot blogs rank well, then degrade quickly in seo terms.

I pulled my ads, stopped taking new clients until I figured out how to prevent this from happening. I didn't want to take someone's money and not be able to deliver!

    I agree totally

PS) I cracked the code on blogspot ranking but this is your post and not the place for me to perform "shameless self promotion"

My warriorforum blog is the place for that

    Kudos to you for that.

You can tell the folks here who are just trying to sell their stuff.

It is the responsibility I spoke about that makes the difference between a fly-by-night and a true internet marketing expert.

Great article. I agree every day we receive stuff that is a rehash of old ideas. Unfortunately, our spam filters are not clever enough to identify it as such.
