Adding Structure To The Website

For right now I've selected Dieting, Exercise, Nutrition, Supplements, Equipment and Mental Health as my main topics.
Using Joomla makes it very easy to change this if I want at a later date. Even if those main categories contain sub categories and articles, they can still be changed around.
I've spent a couple hours (I admit it, I was watching TV while doing it - after all its Sunday) doing some keyword research for these main topics.
I found both http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
and Googles own keyword tool useful. Just remember that the Google tool shows the monthly search results while the seobook tool shows daily results.
Lets take the first main category "Dieting"
I created a new menu which contains Dieting Tips, Dieting Myths, and Dangers of Dieting. All 3 of those are organized into a "Category Blog Layout" style. This means that each of those sub topics are linked to a dedicated category. I will place all the articles I feel are appropriate for that particular sub topic in the designated category. As soon as there are articles in the category, they will show in a blog format under that sub topic.
Thats the nice part about using Joomla - I can make those menu items show as a blog, single article, link, list, etc. I can also take an entire external web page and use the wrapper to display it.
For me, the part that takes the longest when building a site like this is the structure. Adding my articles is easy. The structure is really important so you will probably see this change a few times before I am happy with it.
All of this is necessary is you intend to build a site for the long term.
The primary purpose of this site is to earn money through various methods. Both passive and active methods.
I'm going to want to put some Adsense (passive) on this site so I found a plugin (module) to use.
Its a free plugin - check it out at http://www.digitalgreys.com/free-sof...liate-text-ads.
It's called Affiliate Text Ads and the reason why it caught my eye is because its versitile to use for all types of ads.
I haven't used it before so we will experiment to see how it works.
I'll set this up for my adsense while I contine to work on silo structure.
