Read, enjoy, and learn from my journey as I go from making about $7 a day in Internet Marketing to making a full time living.
Update - Changing Directions

OK - its been quite a while since I have posted, so I thought I would give anyone reading an update.
Here is how my mini sites and SEO strategy have gone - in the toilet, as is quite obvious by looking at the graphic below.

You can tell that since last time I wrote, my earnings steadily increased all the way until August, 2011. August 2011 was a very good month for me. These earnings along with some Amazon earnings totaled to over $700. Not bad, I didn’t think.
How did I get to $700? I didn’t create that many new sites as I already had dozens. But I did choose 10 of my best sites and paid to have 500+ words of unique content written at least twice a month. This gave my websites new content which is always good.
I then started using an automated link building tool called Sick Marketing. My goal in this link building effort was consistency. I wanted to do the same thing every day over and over again. Consistent link building, I had heard, was like gold to Google – they loved it.
So I used Sick Marketing to build 7 forum links, 7 bookmarking links, and 7 directory submissions to each page once a week. My goal was to build 21 links to every page on every website each week. This would average to about 3 new backlinks a day to each page.
I did this for about 3 months, and as you can tell, my earnings steadily increased. I thought I had really struck gold.
Then one day, I got the bright idea that my link building efforts were to mundane and time-consuming, so I tried to outsource them. Toward the end of September is when I started this outsourcing. As you can tell, my earnings started to plummet.
So I cancelled that outsourcing link building service after only month, but the damage had been done. Not only damage to my websites, but damage to my psyche as well. I just didn’t have the will to go on, so I closed the doors to my link building and just let the websites sit.
As you can, letting your websites go doesn’t help things a bit.
Why didn’t I switch back to Sick Submitter, you might ask. Well, I did give it another go the first of 2012. But by then, Google was really focusing on spammy link building tactics and really dropping websites that used these tactics. So I knew that Sick Submitter was, in the end, going to be a losing game the way I had been using it.
I also noticed that many people started getting their Adsense accounts banned. These weren’t just people that were earning a few dollars a month. These were people earning $10,000+ a month with Adsense. In one day, their account was banned and closed.
Today, I still have most of my websites, but most of them will not be renewed when it comes time in the fall. I still make some money (about $100) a month from Bing, Yahoo, and Google, but I don’t think I’ll put any more effort into the websites.
Nope, I have a different plan, a different goal, and a different strategy that I am excited about. Stay tuned for the next post and I’ll tell you what it is.
