Google has introduced a new feature in gmail “mark as important” and “mark as not important”.
What it means to internet marketers?
This feature as far as i know and seen from my incoming emails is used to sort emails that are important and that are not so important.
While the mail arrives in your inbox by default google sorts them as important and normal emails.
Internet marketers use autoresponders to send follow up and broadcast emails. One trouble we all face is the emails ending up in spam/junk folders.
Major autoresponder services like aweber and getresponse are very good in email deliverability but still too many spammy words in the email subject or body ends your email in the spam folder.
Including words like “important”, “notification” “reminder” “checklist” “closing today” “ends now” in the subject and body of the emails increasing the chance of Gmail tagging them as important so it increases your subscriber opening the email and immediately clicking your affiliate link
Autoresponder references:
Aweber
Getresponse

Is it what you pay for your autoresponder account? You might potentially end up losing your sale.

Ive attached a snapshot of my inbox which shows the incoming emails that are marked as important.
