The Joomla! community announced the immediate availability of Joomla! 1.5.6 [Vusani].
This is a quick turnaround security release to address a high level security issue and it is recommended all users upgrade immediately.

Well! None too soon.
Shortly after I posted the main post to the blog I found one of my sites had a hack attack and the "fun" and games started and lasted two days.
This morning the hacker and I were on the site at the same time - I change my password then "it" changed my password, so we ping ponged along until I got my host to do an Apache restart to dump "it" off.
I finally got the web site updated with the new release and installed some security measures.
Heck, I'm not a programmer or back-end boffin but I had to learn some stuff fast.
