From Zero To Four Figures A Month... CHECK!

The goal... to make money from my laptop anywhere on Earth, and ditch the diabolical 9 to 5.

The year... late 2012.

My skill level... I didn't even know that WordPress was a 'thing'.

The peak so far... a four figure monthly income that was paying most if not all of my mortgage, sometimes with a little left over for a fancy dinner with my woman. (keeping in mind that I was doing all of this part time)


I'm not going to say I'm one of the very few who've made internet riches in a matter of months or even a year or two. I expect that for most, including me I'll freely admit, it's a long, crazy, confused process that requires juggling your internet marketing with the craziness of life... work, business, family, the usual 'responsible adult' stuff etc etc.

But after eight or so months of study, effort and about $1500 spent on all kinds of internet marketing "wisdom" and software, I finally made my first internet dollar.

In short, I created a video tutorial program about a subject I knew well. Of all things, it was an MMO online computer game called Eve Online. For better or worse I didn't start a mailing list first, I didn't start on social media first, I knew there was a very small gap in the market and I slotted myself in there not knowing in the slightest if it would work or not but creating a video tutorial program on how to play a part of the game better.

I simply knew I had to start something, I had to take action NOW and make something happen whether it was a success or not, or I'd be spinning my wheels forever.

I learnt how to create a WordPress website, I created hours of video on the subject matter I knew well, and surprisingly enough I was able to shoot up the internet marketing learning curve quite quickly what with the fantastic accessibility to information on the internet these days. And then I launched my website... and within 24 hours I had my first sale. And the website that ultimately led to sufficient enough income some months to pay my house mortgage...

The eagle-eyed of you will see that this website is no longer taking customers due to a change of ownership of the game, and those new owners not being supportive of any kind of profit sharing or customer boosting scenario (seriously... who says NO to free money...!?!)

But none the less, this is the ONLY internet marketing method I've used to make money, and it worked beyond my wildest expectations.


WHY?


Well after some thought...

1. I-JUST-KEPT-GOING : almost every day I did something to further my internet marketing goals;
2. I focused on a single method of making money online and saw it through, and for me that was creating my own digital product on a subject I knew a lot about. I wasn't the best in my niche by far, but that ultimately doesn't matter. Put a little entertainment into your content, use all content creation methods (text, audio, video) and give as much value as you can and you'll often win out much more than you would ever foresee! REMEMBER, you don't need to be the best, just a little better than most;
3. I tracked what was working for me and what wasn't, and did everything I could to leverage my best channels of revenue generation and then maximised those channels;
4. I engaged with my followers and customers as much as possible (which sometimes wasn't much, but that's just how life is sometimes).

My point to you all with this...


First, just don't give up. Write down where you want to be and every single day make at least half an hour free to work towards that.

Secondly, if you have a clear goal but uncertainty is plaguing you, keep pushing through!! Almost every day I second guessed what I was doing, but ultimately it worked. Now don't get me wrong, I can't guarantee this in every single niche for every single person. But if you have a clear goal, a clear niche, then you'll learn SO MUCH by starting your online business!
