Would you like to know how to weave a dreamcatcher? Or how to make cute toothpick flags? Or maybe how to simply sew a button? How.Do is the free app that knows how to. Call it a DIY handbook if you wish. Basically it's a mobile social platform that draws people from around the world to share their DIY skills and knowledge. If you are into this topic, you will find this application useful and interesting.

Currently there is only an iOS version of How.Do app: it's optimized for both 3.5'' and 4'' screens of iPhones and iPods, as well as for iPads. Since the product is still under constant improvements, there is no Android version in the cards yet, as far as we know. The startup wants to polish the iOS user experience as a good start, before shifting to other platforms.

How.DoHow.Do

What is How.Do all about? This can be intended in-app discovery of how.dos or do.ers to follow. This can be simple swiping down the list of how.do picks in search of inspiration. Or you may contribute your own how.do tutorials using image and sound directly from your Apple device, and get likes and feedback from other do.ers.

What's a tutorial in How.Do? It consists of several photos (step-by-step instructions), each accompanied by sound recordings, which can be up to 8 seconds long. That's an interesting substitute to video, which would likely be long to watch. Here you concentrate on the value of each image and concise voiceover instead. When you look through a tutorial, it's also much more convenient to skip what you already know. How.dos can be tagged with geolocation.

How.DoHow.Do

How.Do is a social network in itself, but it also includes sharing to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Tumblr. You may look for the how.dos most liked and shared.

The How.Do community is growing, and once it grows large enough, it will be a fine means of promotion. You may make the last slide containing the necessary information about you, the address of your blog, or your group on Facebook, or your Pinterest/Instagram address, or whatever else. Same with the last voiceover that can be used as a call to follow you.

The How.Do startup is currently located in Berlin, and its product has the potential of growing. The concept is rather similar to Snapguide, but since the application keeps on being upgraded, more is yet to show. Meanwhile, as Halloween is on its way, you may use the app to recall how to make a jack-o'-lantern.
