A few thoughts on President Obama...
First and foremost...GIVE THE GUY A BREAK! He's only been in office for a few months. It will take a bit longer than that do undo EIGHT YEARS of damage.
Now, that being said, I'd like to reflect on Obama's prowess as a first class Marketer, and what we can actually learn from him.
Of course he didn't single-handedly manage his pre-election marketing. But he chose all the right people and collectively his campaign did a GREAT job! It may even seem more impressive because all we have is John McCain's unimpressive campaign. Nonetheless, Obama's team made all the right moves.
What I find striking about Obama himself is that the man is really on top of technology and trends. And that is where a marketer really gets the edge...keeping up with what is in tommorow, not just today. Some marketers I have noticed try to keep old trends alive. That is where they waste a good amount of time, money, and resources.
The Internet waits for noone.
As a whole we should all be innovating and looking forward...and stop trying to prolong or revive methods and trends that are stale or never worked well in the first place.
