Don't Run before you can Walk!

OK, I tried to run before I walked. I put together what I still consider an excellent offering, started article writing, video making and all but made several big show stopping mistakes.
The mistakes?
1) No list to begin with. Since I had nobody to announce this to right away and was relying on free traffic alone, without offering anything of value for free to get people on my list, I got pitiful results.

2) No list to begin with. Since I didn't have a list, the big names I contacted were not interested in JV'ing. A few of them told me that if I had list, they might be willing to do a cross promotion.

Now there must be a way to launch a program without having a list to begin with but I imagine you have to know people first. So I'm off to the Warrior forums to get known a bit...
