Correct me if I'm wrong, but most web traffic tips are completely and utterly worthless!

They all seem to go something like this:
On page search engine optimization, build backlinks, quality content and lots of it, social media, more backlinks, pay per click, create a ton of decent videos, more backlinks, squidoo/hubPages, forum posting, more backlinks … So, where to start, where does it end??

Truly, nobody NEEDS Google to get website visitors because they are not the only way to increase web traffic. BUT, why would you want to ignore such a large traffic source?

Here’s the deal, you can not “depend” on their traffic, they could ban your site when ever they feel like it, do an algorithm change or what ever they want, when ever they want, dropping you from the results like a hot potato and bye bye traffic.
