If you market on the internet, it doesn't matter in what niche, I hope you're using an autoresponder to market to potential clients (and existing customers) over e-mail. Unfortunately, most marketers don't realize that there is a right way and a wrong way to market to your precious list of CAN-SPAM compliant, double opt-in subscribers.

You need to have a list for everything you do. If you put a new product for sale, create a sublist just for customers buying that product. Even if you give away a free product, create a sublist for that and require people to opt-in to get it. If you establish a content site, create a list for that.

When you send out a BIG promotion, you can always choose to broadcast that message to ALL your sublists, or only to certain sublists. This way, if you NEED to separate subscribers, you can. You can create a pre-sell list to sell people on a certain product, and if they buy and subscribe to that buyer's list, most autoresponders will allow you to automatically move that person from your prospect list for that product to your buyer's list for that product.

Now that you have your sublists setup, it's time to start marketing to them. Many days I'm in the mood to write, but other day's I'm not. For that reason, I like to load up my autoresponders with follow-up content. It doesn't have to be a lot... if you're only in the mood to write 10 quick messages, schedule them to send out every 30 days and now you have a year of content.
