I take a lot of action in my online business, so every once in a while I get asked, how do you take action? Sometimes I will dish out advice like, "Lock yourself in a room" "Record a video of yourself working" or, "Budget your time" but in reality there really is no magic pill to taking action whenever you want to.
You can take a giant step to improving your productivity simply by freeing yourself. Make your life less complicated. If you need to finish a task, turn off your phone, close unneeded browser windows, and tell everyone you know not to contact you until you are complete.
Is your desk cluttered? Remove everything off your desk and adhere to a "clean desk policy." Throw the trash out, put papers you do not need in folders or desk drawers so you do not see them. Stop watching TV. Remove food from your desk. Your dinner table is your place to eat; your desk is your place to work. Do not place any mail or newspapers on your desk. Make sure your work desk is a place for work only.
I even know one internet marketer who traded in his computer for a laptop, and uses it as his desk computer. No monitor, tower, or peripherals to worry about... just a laptop and a mouse.
You also need to take notice when something works. If you notice a big productivity boost when you work in the morning, for example, you should make it a habit to continue that habit. If you write articles better in a Word document than you do typing them into web forms, continue writing articles in Word. Get it?
Those are my "common sense" techniques to taking action, day in and day out, so you can stay productive.
