Hey, I guess the website you are referring to is Designhill, and to increase conversion you need to start looking at your site from a user point of view. First of all you might have tons of visitors, but are they the right visitors for you? If for instance you optimise your site for webdesign and I come from a search result and see that it is a contest or bidding basis website I will not stay. So check your optimisation work and the results you get. On the other hand, is your website clear enough in what it does in the first 5 seconds? If I enter your site, can I understand what it does in 5 to 10 seconds? Check your website's analytics and see which page has highest bounce rate, test your website through Crazy Egg and see which part of the converting pages are mostly visited or not visited at all. You can also do an A/B testing to see if a different design would be better. Use some offline strategies as well, promotions, maybe a popup (do not over do this though, it becomes annoying soon), a hovering button to your contact page on side of your website. Good luck |

It's most likely because you get generic traffic to your site and your website is not having optimal conversion elements to stimulate conversions.

Hey man, you should definitely try picreel’s pop-ups. They’ve raised my conversions without affecting the traffic in a quite short time. Just urge your visitors a little bit.

I agree with a lot of great points made on this thread about optimizing user conversion rates in general. I cannot tell though campbelljof if you are referring to conversion rates for ad campaigns? Or CR in terms of visiting users signing up on your site? Or converting users in some other way? I think depending on what your goal is, a lot of the points made on this thread could be applicable - If you can let us know more specifically what you want to increase CR for, I'm sure there might be more feedback for you! If you are referring to ad optimization, it would be good to know also the typical format of the ads you work with - ie: Do users have to purchase something? Are they simple sign ups? etc.

That means your traffic is not active or real. I don't know really why this is happening. But it may happen for lack of promotion and good traffic.

Have you done A/B testing? It's a great way to define what methods works for you the best. Also have you developed a sales funnel? It's extremelly important, maybe there're some defects with it. What is the route of the visitor of your website? How can they go from opening your website to the order? |

Good question- There's some good answers in this thread. One thing that increases conversions is your relationship with your list. Size does matter, but so does your relationship. Also, I prefer to build a "buyers list" meaning that getting an email after someone has bought something. Like maybe offering a bonus on someones JV page or selling something yourself. Good Luck- Scott |

The problem should be in the traffic quality and on your landing page. Try to improve the landing page, make it more useful and remove any distractions from it. That should help. Then consider trying a different traffic source. Keep testing all the variables to improve your conversion rate. |

I just posted this in another thread, so hopefully talking about this again will get me in trouble or anything. But anyways, there's this rule from the great direct marketing legend Ed Mayer which goes like this: It's called the 40/40/20 rule. It basically says that the success of any marketing campaign can be broken down in the following: 40% of the success is related directly to your offer. 40% of the success is related directly to the quality of your list. In 20% of your success is related directly to the ad creative. In other words, to increase conversions narrow in on one of those specific sections of your marketing campaign. If you're looking to optimize your offer, one of the fastest ways to do that is to do pre-validation before you even launch a product. In other words, survey your list, find out what stuff they actually want, create that thing for them, and then sell it. If your past that stage, then one thing you can do to optimize your offer is to literally split test offers. Now remember, the offer isn't the product itself. Let's say that I was selling copywriting services. The service isn't the offer. In offer would be, "I will write you high quality emails for one dollar if you order a full-blown sales page". Another offer for that same service would be, "get my sales copy 50% off today only" So the quality of your offer is at least 40% of the success of your campaign. Next we have the quality of the list itself. If you're running traffic, that means who are your target interests. What keywords are you targeting an ad words etc. It's very easy to get cheap clicks from the wrong people. People who are ready to buy, people who don't react well to your offer etc. If it's email marketing, are you segmenting your list appropriately so that only the people who are ready for your offer are being mailed? Etc. In the last 20% which is the ad creative is the graphic design in the copywriting etc. You'll never hear this from professional copywriters, because they would probably go out of business if they heard this, but tweaking headlines and doing multivariate testing on specific points of a sales letter is only effective if your split testing for the offer or trying to better match your lists desires and intention. Coming up with a snappier headline isn't going to be nearly as useful as tweaking the offer itself. For example, there's a lot of people going for the one dollar trial offer. And if you search split testing case studies online you'll find that a lot of people are split testing between charging $297 or charging one dollar trial offer and then $77 per month for 10 months or whatever. That's a good example of appropriate split testing where you are truly adjusting the ad creative, but only to better improve your offer itself. Essentially, by working on the offer or by working on your list you are being TWICE as effective in trying to increase your conversions. Anyways, you could go on for hours and hours talking about this concept, but it's one of my favorite rules for increasing conversions on whatever I do. |
