Hello everyone, My name is Antoine and I've been lurking here for a bit and recently joined. I own a small company that just finished its first product. We do fitness videos/products that we aim to sell online. I am in the process of creating a landing page to use with clickbank. When you buy the product it gives you access to our member's page with the whole training program. I have some questions regarding the first fold of the page. Would a before/after picture + text make a bigger impact than a big picture/or a video? I've read a bit on copywriting and I'm not sure what would be the best. Also, I did not put any email capture on that page. No leadbox or anything. Should I have one that pops after like 10-15 seconds? I've got an ebook coming soon "5 efficient ways to burn fat while doing your daily activities" that I could use for that. Or just make a squeeze page and push some ads towards it. You can check the landing page here: http://bouge.fit It's the first time I do pages like that. Thanks for your input! |

The best impressions will be from picture or video, not text

Disagree with Edelhaid. Text is vital to get the attention. Of course don't use too much text. |

I am not a fan of before and after photos, sort of old school and people know photos can easily be photoshopped. A video set to auto-start is a good approach. Definitely have catchy photos, not just text, above the fold. |

Take a look at some of the most popular Fitness or Weight Loss products on the Clickbank Marketplace and see how they are made. Most of them have just a video presentation, while others combine text, photos and video. Definitely do NOT include any email capture box, social media links or ads on the selling page. The only purpose of the squeeze page is to sell the product, not to bring fans or emails. What you CAN do is include a pop-up that appears ONLY when the visitor clicks the CLOSE button. That means they are not willing to buy just yet, but if you manage to get their email they might buy in the future. So give them a free gift in exchange of their email...or maybe a trial version of the product for 1$ or so. |

Both are vital - the key is simplicity. Only say one thing with your image and only say one thing (at a time) with your text. Simple Images work better than complex images. Single statements (Feature or benefit) work better than long sentences (like this one!) and paragraphs of more than three lines. As a side note, I run a family fitness and health site. I am happy to consider a guest blog and feature of your video - if it's any good. |
