To the question at hand, all are viable choices and really boils down to your preference.

I run a few courses and use membership sites coupled with live casts.

S2 member pro has always been the platform I've used and coupled that with various webinar platforms. (EWP, WebinarJam, Runclick)

I usually do monthly live training via webcam (practical techniques not screencasts) and I always record the live casts with several other HD cams that we then edit and put into the members area usually within 10-14 days...they can access the live replays at lower resolution until we upload the edited versions.

Usually we drip feed the 2 years or so of content we got edited up so we don't overwhelm new members and we also have compiled transcriptions via REV that we edit and add as pdfs.

Usually the content also gets repurposed as DVDs and DVD compilations and also some kindle books that we re-edit from the transcriptions and we extract the graphics from the HD video and shoot additional stills if we need to illustrate a point that is not 100% from the video.

I've looked at lots of membership platforms and methods of delivering content.

Although I don't use personally I would consider DAP as a good choice.

Kajabi seems like the choice of many but I'm not into recurring fees. Not that I wouldn't consider if I had big enough memberships ( most sites I have are like between 30 - 70 members)

The most desirable content my members like is live and thy enjoy asking questions and making requests for the next live training. I then make plans based on the requests and thank the people who suggest the next training they want.

It is easy to provide extra "cookies" by delivering surprise training and that is usually something I've already got going on and I just involve other participants and send out last minute notifications.

One of the other platforms I use personally is Premium Web Cart...They function under different names...I use their membership platform and you can do all the branding and customisation etc.

I still have sites running inside PWC since 2010 and you can drip feed out of Amazon S3 and they handle recurring billing well. Also one click upsells etc. I integrate them with Paypal and Eway as payment providers but they have a huge number they integrate with.

Some of the S2 sites I run through Clickbank and CB are pretty awesome when it comes to handling billing and payments. i expect to do more on CB as we move forward.

It can be hard..not hard...but tedious when you first set up sites with CB but the effort is worth the return.

You can then set up premium backend products / memberships / training outside of the platform if you need to, but CB is getting better at higher dollar transactions and well worth thinking about as a payment manager.

There are some other providers I'm experimenting with but don't feel compelled to recommend here until I have tangible results to share.

One of the memberships I'm in that functions pretty well is Mike Rhodes PPC savvy which he runs on a forum platform.

This forum structure is really good in that it gets engagement from members...a bit like Kajabi can do but I think is is more personal which really makes you feel like you get value for your membership. The forum manager he uses is XENForo. Nice.
