Hey everyone, it's awesome to be a member here! Looking forward to chatting with new people.

My question:
1) How do you get clients
2) How do you get higher paying clients

High paying clients usually are found online unless you can befriend them in person or get a referral from another person/friend/etc

High paying clients know their triggers (most of the time) and they will click on an AD and then they will be able to see from that click (final url) if what you offer is worth it.

Nowadays, high paying clients can get sold through video marketing, but everything else has to pan out in their minds mentally. (secure site, clean layout, responsiveness, customer service, is there a terms conditions)

It really depends on the price point, what is the price point you want to get paying clients to you?

advertise to high paying clients using google ads - they have demographic settings that allows you to allow google's technology to find the high income people faster than if you would do it yourself

I have had high paying clients by simply asking a friend who was friends with a business owner. The business owner paid and i delivered and got paid $1200 dollars and my cost was $200. = $1,000 dollar profit one client

Depends on what your business/offering is.
Example: For services like nannying, home senior care, etc. most of those high paying clients are not inclined to take a leap of faith on advertising but rather your reviews, and referrals. Look at your resources in network for service-based businesses. Get one high paying client with who you know who may refer you, and make them happy to get keys to their network.

Products? Make sure you look ligit, showcase anything to increase your credibility/authority. clean, elegant design with access to things like live chat, or easy human access so they don't think it's a scam.. and yes, know their triggers and how they talk. A sale, for example and traditional keywords like "save money" aren't going to help you attract them.

Make yourself a list of possible clients, then contact them.

Make sure you convince them you're worth hiring.

They will pay you more, if they think you're worth more.

Part of that is really simple: ask for more.

The other part is also really simple: position yourself well and show them proof.

Not trying to be glib. It's really simple.

Coming up and executing a plan is the hard part.

    Pay attention what DWolf said.

This is a very good question .

Let's say you posted a face book ad advertising a blog post targeting millenials age 25 - 40 with college degrees earning 100 k per year which will enable you to use the data to tailor your services .That is 1 way .

Another way would be to increase the value your provide which would require learning new skillsets which gives you leverage to charge more for your services .

After you figure out number one,
then number two is simply asking for more money.

People WILL pay you whatever amount you ask for.

Whenever you doubt yourself, try to remember that ten cents worth of plastic makes a pair of sunglasses. People sell sunglasses at prices ranging from fifty cents to over a thousand bucks.

BTW, just because you can get more - doesn't mean that you should.

High dollar clients come from high dollar results.

There has never ever, ever, ever, been a time when copywriters have it so easy.

In the old days, it would take days and weeks to see if you had a winning message. You'd have to write your letter, mail it out to a mailing list, wait and see what your results were...then tweak as necessary. OR...have your customer buy ad space in magazines, newspapers, T.V., Radio etc., and wait to see if you had a winner.

Today you can literally do all that in a matter of hours at almost no cost or little cost.

When I started doing direct mail, I had a typewriter and I went to the hobby store and bought rub off stencils and used them to create headlines, etc. Most of them bombed by the way, but I learned very quickly about what really worked.

Today, you have so many tools at your disposal. It's almost mind staggering to someone that started out way before most of you were even born. Yes, I'm feeling old.

Back then...sure, most of us were trying to feed our family...but it was more of a challenge to see if we could sell.

Now, you can get a free trial for a funnel builder...free trial for an email or text service...free email account...free use of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkdin...

you can actually do a whole campaign just using free trials.

These days, most things are sold through the internet.

"Hey Mr/Mrs Business Owner, websites are not the best way to get customers. I can show you how to write landing pages that bring in loads of customers. I know it works because I did it for Joe's Electronics and took their business from $1500 a month to $30,000 a month. Before that, I sold my own product that brought in $120,000.00 of orders in 30 days."

You can actually get a portfolio for free these days. How much easier can it be?

I'm sometimes dismayed at the total lack of creativity on the part of new Copywriters these days.

I'm a big fan of having someone share your message to get a discount.

"Hey Bob, want a 50% discount? Hit the share button and I'll take half off what you can grab this amazing widget for today."

Heck, you can even get a 30 day trial on software that let's you incorporate the sharing feature.

Make someone share your offer and you just increased your exposure.

So, it's odd that in this day and age we have so many new copywriters confused when it comes to starting out...

especially when you understand what the "old-timers" went through to become successful.

Copywriting is not a fill in the blanks hobby. It's a thing that takes highly creative people to do highly creative things that get products sold
