punctuation correction software

Well, this is probably massive overkill but the word processing program (similar to Microsoft Word) in Open Office has an excellent grammar/spell check feature. If that's too much just do a search on this phrase: free punctuation correction software. It returned a bunch of decent looking free apps. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply travlinguy, i searched endlesly last night, but coudnot find anything that could do that. all i came up was just the usual spell checkers and grammer correction. could not find anything for punctuation though. does Open Office have that capability? either way ill check it out. thanks for the link.

Yes... the grammar and spelling function of MS Word (or Open Office) is helpful. But, my advice would be to read a good book or two about grammar and punctuation.

You don't want to be at the mercy of a stinkin' piece of software. And you'll find that the software isn't perfect, either. Plus, when you know the rules, you can bend them a little (as copywriters are frequently known to do).

So let me help you out...

Go go to Amazon and buy this book -- Write Right! by Jan Venolia. It's about $13 and is very easy to understand.

Thank you guys for replying. i don't like commas either. but i am doing some article submission on associated content so i can hit 2 bird with one stone. since my financial situation has been so bad due to not having a single project to work on in the past 4 months(i have my small hardwood floor installing company). AC is good for getting some traffic and it also pays for each article depending on the exclusivity of it. but they are 100 times tougher than Ezine. they wont accept articles that don't use correct punctuations. the problem with that is english is not my tongue language. its the fifth one for me, and i never learned it by taking any class or the usual formal ways. i came to us 7 years ago and i just learned how to talk and eventually learned how to write just by talking and listening to people around me. so that makes it hard to know the rules of english( which frankly sometimes pisses me off, because same thing can be use in 10 different ways in some cases, lol).and on other hand, my tongue language is farsi, which has totally different rules when it comes to commas and punctuations, and sometimes unknowingly i mix them up that makes so much harder for me. sometimes i search for hours to find an article on sites like ezine to find the exact phrase i am using to see if i am using correct punctuation at the end of it or not. so i thought software of some sort would help, but then i do agree that sometimes softwars fail too, i see it all the time with the "spell checkers.

Anyway, i appreciate you guys helping out. i will take a look at the books you guys recommend, hopefully will help.
