I'm Looking For A Few Newbie Copywriters

I'm teaching a group of students about outsourcing and we will be looking for copywriters.

These letters will be 1-2 pages in length (not longer) and will be posted to blogs for affiliate sales.

The people hiring you will be newbies.

This is not going to pay a lot but if you are interested in being mentioned as a resource, please pm me.

These people may be interested in hiring you for a longer style letter in a few weeks.

Let me know your rates up front.

Peace,

Harlan

  • ^^ Wow. Just, wow.

This is why the seasoned copywriters in this forum need to stop ranting and raving at everyone who comes in here looking for a copywriter. It makes newer copywriters think that is the best way to do business, and they go off ranting about pay with Harlan-freaking-Kilstein. (No offense Harlan )

As far as I'm concerned, considering what people pay to have this guy even look at their sales copy - you should all feel honored that he's paying. At all. Instead of asking YOU to pay HIM for the privilege.

And maybe next time, look into who you're ranting at *before* you follow the herd and just yell at everyone who doesn't offer you $2000 up front for your sales copy.

    Just a thought.

    Peace...

      Hey everybody,

Years ago, I played in bands. A lot of bands.

The bar owners, even if you were good, instead of them paying you money, you would have to pay THEM money.

It was called "paid to play" and it was a way to build your reputation. Many of the top bands in Chicago got started this way. Just to get their foot in the door.

Whether it's low pay, no pay or you pay, ANY opportunity to exercise your newfound copywriting chops with a true Client is a deal.

      - Rick Duris

PS: Why? Because the deal can always be reworked once you prove you have what it takes.

Since I am PM challenged on this forum, can you email me so we can discuss the details? I will share my rates at that time. My email is robynadams75ATgmailDOTcom.

    Thanks so much!!

    Harlan,

I am overwhelmingly interested in this and would love the opportunity to even be associated with work that you have done in any regard.

I have been a full time online writer for the past two years (althought now I am back at a full time job) and crave the opportunity to do whatever I can to assist you and help build a reputation for myself as well.

Look forward to hearing back from you, and thank you for extending this offer to us.

FWIW, Harlan worked with me a while ago when I was getting started.

I truly got some really great samples of my writing from what we did together. Uh, okay - maybe that didn't quite come out the way I wanted it to.

But Harlan has a way of pulling out of you what you are good at, copywriting-wise.

This is an opportunity from a man who apparently likes to teach, wants to help dedicated copywriters-to-be get on the right road, and has a tremendous lot of knowledge to share.

FWIW, from someone who's already been-there, done-that - and proud of it!

    Harlan,

I definitely remember you from when I started-- you were always willing to help people and I see that has not changed.

Kudos to you for giving people here a chance to take a step forward.

People, not only is he giving you experience, but it is my understanding there is a possibly of payment as well.

    Do it.

Harlan, I wanted to know how long this opportunity will be open - is it closing soon?

I am working to create an example of what I can produce if given an opportunity to use what I have been studying.

Would you mind giving us an idea of what experience level you would be willing to consider for your available slots?

    Thank you!

I'm in! Just left a voice mail on your office phone. Since I'm new to the forum, I was unable to PM you.

      Harlan,

I'm new to the forum and can't send you a PM. I'm a newbie and here's a sample:

Light weight saw cuts like an accurate heavy weight.

When I first saw one of these Makita mini-sliding compound miter saws on a job site, it looked like a play school version of a grown-ups saw. It's a tiny thing, and I couldn't imagine wanting to use it in place of my 12-inch sliding compound miter saw. But, you know the old saying: Big things come in small packages.
This little saw has an 11 3/4-in. cross-cut capacity, and will cut a 2X8 at 45 degrees in a single bound. While 4X stock will choke this little guy, not much else can. It has 9 positive stops for mitering and the four-post slider is as accurate as all get out. Weighing in at just under 28 pounds, this bang on the mark, lightweight saw cuts like a heavyweight. And at the end of a long, hard, fast-paced day (especially for us experienced carps) I'm happier lifting this little mighty might into my truck than I am lugging my 12-in. saw.

Count me in, Harlan. I'm Rob Lehrer. We've corresponded before in Michel Fortin's CopywritersBoard. I'm now completing John Carlton's SWS Course. Since you're one of the instructors, you can go into David Deutsch's room and look over my work.

Looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and/or your students.
